Here's my latest and greatest find in the Hunt for an M3.
Completely disregard the price, I just want your opinions on the car, the options, the color combo, and what you would be willing to pay for it "out the door".

Here it is (http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7CE-%7CM-_5_%7CD-_47_%7CN-N%7CR-40%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE+descending%7CQ-descending%7CZ-30303&aff=national&paId=243825244&recnum=29&leadExists=true)

Thanks guys

I think that'd be a good look for you, I'm not sure what I'd pay for one, because I've honestly never been M3 shopping, but for one that pretty, I'd be open to suggestion from the seller, ^_^

-Stig

P.S.-I absolutely love Silver M3s

I wouldn't pay that much in no way but it looks nice. Exception being the seat wear. At that price it should be mint. I see them in the 16k range in that condition. Make sure you check with your bank before accepting what the dealer offers in financing. Don't take the shaft because you want an M3.

Check this one and see if you can get more pics. This one is a vert. though. I see this one in downtown Kennesaw everyday so it is still available.

Thats a nice find, but I'm a hard-core coupe purist. And beleive me, I'm definitely not paying $20 for an E36.

Looks ok but the price is a few K high.

The others know more than me about technical stuff, but it looks pretty good to me. I prefer white or black but the silver looks pretty good, and I love the body moldings on the side (or whatever is the proper terminology).

The pictures look great, but I've done enough car and house shopping on the internet to know the pictures can be deceiving. I think it's a little pricey, you'd probably get a better price from a private seller (like I should talk, I've never bought a car from a private seller! but I should).

I love the white dials. Do they all come with that?

Good luck!

I think the dials are aftermarket.

Yeah they are. Idk man i love silver it was my first choice but 19k is alittle high its probably because its at a dealership.

Ok the first silver 99 that Philip showed us, well its $20k because its AT A LAMBO dealership. If Phil can get into the car for $14k or less, he is in the money and will result in a good deal. They probably paid $11k for the car. Question is, will they bend over that far? I think they will. Keep us posted Phil!

Yea if it sits a long time they will bend.

Update: I went to Motorcars of Georgia this morning (I will have a full write-up of the experience when it's over) and my sales guy "Roger" who is very cool handed me the keys to the M3 and told me to drive it to work and let the tech's look at it. He is having a valet deliver my car here to Global and and bring the M3 back to MOG. (Also very cool)
Anyway- The car drives awesome! It looks and runs great. It pulls strong, the interior is very nice and it has all the good options. (Except tilt-wheel ) I found out my insurance will be $200/month for the M3, which isn't too terrible considering my driving record.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Woo-hoo! He's a great salesman, because once you drive it you probably won't want to give it back. Be smart! And if you decide to make a deal, good luck and congrats! I can't wait to see it if you buy it. Maybe we'll see you in your new M3 at the winery......

I was on CL looking for something else and found this, posted Nov 9. You may have already seen it. It looks sharp. I like the last line in the post. :)

Things to check:

all the suspension bushings(especially RTAB's, and RSM's)(uneven tire wear is a good sign of bad bushings)
driveshaft and mounts
Check under side of car for rust(exhaust and rear axle)
pull all codes
make sure the sunroof and windows all work as they should(slide and tilt, regulators tend to go bad)
Make sure heat and a/c work on all settings(mine had heat comming out the bottom with a/c on)
Make sure the valve cover and PS lines arnt leaking.
Find out when the plugs and coil packs were done last.
Find out if its had the cooling system upgrade(metal water pump and such)
And check the air bag crap(belt buckes and seat sensors)
make sure vanos isnt noisey

if all that checks out there isnt much else that goes bad on these, and most of those are easy fixes anyway, but if its comming from a dealer...make them do it.

That's pretty much a list of what I checked for. I haven't had chance to put it up on a rack yet, but I most definitely will be under that car's skirt before I sign anything.

Thanks. If I buy it, you guys will all definitely see plenty of it.
The only issue I have with this car is the Titanium Silver paint. It's not a bad color but it's boring. We'll see if it grows on me.

The salesman just called and offered me $15,800 out the door.
I told him "No thanks." and he said he'll "see what he can do and call me back"
LoL I love salesman. They're so predictable, it's humorous. I wonder what he'll say when he calls back and offers me $15k and I say $13.5.

I toadily agree, but I want an S52 with S50 manifold, so Estrogen Blue is the available color.

I would absolutely LOVE to "M50" that white blown-motor E30 M3 at work. I'd rather have that than ay E36 on the market. I just dont think that I have the funds to do it properly. I'm working with about $12,000 total, and I do not want to spend it all just to wind up with a hack-job car.

It will all depend on how cheap you can get that M3. There is not a ton of work in the swap.
