View Full Version : Fuel Tank Sender
Hi,
I'm trying to replace the fuel tank sender on a 1995 BMW 325i. I have the replacement part but the original appears to be in place with a wide black ribbed ring around it (almost looks like a mini tire). Does anyone know how to get this off?
Thanks!
It is threaded. Normal right hand thread. You can get it off using a shop towel and some elbow grease although there is a special tool to do it.......

Before you put the seat back in start car and look for leaks.

I Do it all the time with out specail tool. Just get a big screw driver and hit it counter clockwise to loosen. NOT to hard Its not that tight plus you dont want to crack the ring. Also make sure you line the to marks back up when you reinstall. (There is a line on the tank and one on the pump) use new seal ring with some vasaline on it to reseal.
