I know a bunch of people from my old MINI club that do this regularly. I never made it up there in my MINI. I'd like to try it in a Bimmer. Not sure about the 7 series on those curves. It can handle them, but it is so long I'm afraid I'd get clipped by someone coming the other way....
But a Khrome dragon on my trunk lid would look awesome!

I've heard from a lot of people that police are cracking down. I was in Boone a few weeks ago and met a guy that was there with a corvette club (about 30 corvettes in the mountains). He and I discussed Tail of the draggon and he said it was a lot of fun but cops are starting to sit right at the state line. He said last time they did it a couple of M3's did it with them and they were impressed at how well they did.

It is great, but be sure not to miss out on all the other great roads like the Cherohala Skyway.

Oh yeah man the cops are cracking down all over, I heard a bunch of Ferraris got nailed a few weeks back for driving fast for conditions.

Yeah the TOTD is being cracked down big time, even from the last time I was there back in 05. It's a huge disappointment though because they're out there in such high numbers that you can't even enjoy the drive if you ARE doing the speed limit, they're pulling people over for touching the yellow let alone crossing over. The two times that I've done the TOTD, I had a blast, we drove in a manner that would be considered spirited yet reserved. We didn't slide our cars or anything, but there were a few times where you questioned your front tires abilities. I say this however, not in a bragging or boastful tone, I say it simply to be comparitive. Today, if you go to the TOTD and even give it a little goose going into the turn, you can put a months pay that you'll be pulled over, they may not even write you a ticket, but they're going to stop you.
Heck, the Evolution committee tells me that some of their guys get pulled over simply for having a car that LOOKS AS IF it'll do something illegal, they call it propable cause out there, I would file a civil suite against them and call it profiling.
But that's just my opinion . . . .I could be wrong...

Same info I'm getting from the MINI crew. Stay off the yellow line or they will pull you over. It still sounds like a great ride....

Does it count as an official quartet when two of us are from the same household? LOL
I'll be in Hiram today, but a mini-greet in Dville would be cool!

Sure it can count, LOL, D-ville doesn't exist after 9pm anyway, so it's acceptable, LOL!
I guess I'll be at the meet and greet as well, I live soooooo close to the spot that I'm actually excited about being there, I can leave my house at like 4:45 and I'll still make it on time, HAHAHAHAHAHA!
