Anyone know someone looking to dump an old Beetle? I don't really care what shape it is in cosmetically or mechanically as long as it isn't rusted. Tall order, I realize, but I need a hobby car....

Should not be hard to find. Parts are readily available. Funny you mention that car. I sat in a silver/black 1979 VW Beetle convertible at Flashback Motorworks over the weekend, with 3700 miles on it. Yes, three thousand seven hundred miles!! It was in concours shape. I wish I could buy it!! It was awesome!

Yes, I know of one its on Bishop lake rd. off of Johnson Ferry rd. In Marietta, Ga. It goes for sale a couple of times a year then pulles it next to garage, looks clean maybe around the late 60's.

I'm just looking for something to tinker with. I had a '71 a few years ago and had a blast working on it. They are super easy to repair compared to more modern cars. Cindy (Catmint) and I used to love going to junkyards and finding parts we needed.

Sounds like a fun project to have around. I love hunting around car junkyards!
