So I pull into my apt. complex and put my window down to key myself in. I heard something so i turned the radio down and sure enough it cracks and pops as it makes its way back up. How much does this repair usually cost? I know its a common problem so i made the post really quick while I make dinner...

Get a Mac.
Oops, wrong forum. Seriously, I'm sure someone less smarmy than me will come along with a proper answer! ;) We had a similar issue with the passenger window with our Mini a few months ago and I brought it to the dealer who fixed it no charge because it was still under warranty. Good luck!

The window came off its guide tracks. You gotta take the door panel off and get to it. I would take it to one of the great BMW repair shops mentioned on here. Its a relatively cheap fix.

Year & model? If its an E38, E39, E46 its probably the window regulator cable or pulley getting ready to come apart. The E36 and E34 still use the scissors style regulators that are a little more robust, the weak point on these is the sliding jaws where they attach to the glass........

Its an E46 ('03 325i). So does anyone have a shop they recomend any more than another? I have the option of continuing my warranty for about 2 grand with the dealership. Should I look at doing so at this point or will I be able to find a shop to do most general repair for a better price?
At the risk of tooting my own horn:) go to my website. We can help.
