Well,
Since there's apparently no forum at ClubBimmer for new intros, here's mine:
Proud owner of a Boston Green 1998 Z3 2.8 and she's my hobby car. Plan on keeping her as a N/A project car. Several mods already completed. Not that I like cross-posting, but you can go to my "Garage" at and take a look at my car and my mods:
http://directory.bimmerfest.com/user.php?action=viewuser&UId=3805

Latest mod was a complete swap of my Z3's interior. You can see that thread at (same thing, copy/paste take out spaces):
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=864242

Let me know what you think.

Cheers!
Gibber

NEW UPDATE (13 Nov 07)! Andy Maddox from LeatherZ sent me some sweet Evergreen leather to modify my door panel inserts and some other accents in my car. Excited to get to it!

LATEST UPDATE (25 Nov 07)! Finally, got door panel inserts and UGDO armrest recovered in LeatherZ provided Evergreen! Please take a look a the second link above in the original post in the thread and tell me what you think!
Cheers,
Gibber

Hey Mitch,
Glad to hear it! I'm pumped by the Guiness attempt in April. Gonna see if I can get some interest locally (lot of folks around where I work drive Bimmers), but I have to be make sure I can do it legally (military). After all, Hotlanta isn't that far away from Montgomery, AL.:D

Many thanks to Andy Maddox from LeatherZ for his support! Unfortunately, will need to wait until my next break from work...and a little bit here and there after work to get it done.
Hopefully, the link below will work as well, otherwise, look at OP for thread.

Holy Cow! That's a lot of work but it's very impressive! I really like the results. I agree with you about the beige being a little boring. It's what I've got in my car, but not by choice. I never would have dreamed of changing the interior. You must be very proud of all the work you've done. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome! Always glad to have new Alabama folks on the board. I'm a Bama native and Atlanta transplant.

Nice job on the interior swap. That must've been some job.

Catmint/Justin, many thanks!

Catmint, if you really want to, I'm sure there's a way, even with leather/carpet dyes or stains. I bet someone else has done something similar with your type car before. (we seriously need more smiliey faces Mitch! :))

Can't claim anywhere in particular as I've never lived anywhere more than 5-yrs in my entire life. :) Certainly like this area a lot, though, and most of my family is in TN and GA, so who knows might stick around a while.

As to the swap, less painful than I thought, greatly due to advice from Paul at e-Bay's Z3_parts where I got several of my components. Pretty stoked it worked!

Gibber

I understand the moving thing. My dad was military and then a college administrator. I moved 18 times by the time I was 18. Didn't go to the same school two years in a row until I got to high school. Since college, I've moved another 15 times....

Swin, I'm through your area all the time. I've got two kids that live in the Huntsville area. I actually lived in Gadsden for about two years. You need to organize a ride up to Little River Canyon for the club....

Gadsden's about 2 hrs from here (Bmgham 1-1 1/2 hrs). Don't know if there's active participation around B-ham, but might be worth getting interested AL members together up there at some point. With my family, I'm hard pressed to take off to anywhere more than 1 or so hrs away. Hate to miss out with the kids...though I could bring at least one along.:)

Are you guys going to Atlanta next April for Guiness record? (Swin, I think I saw you say yes). Should be pretty cool if we can pull it off.

Cheers,
Gibber

Haven't you figured it out yet? Sheesh, that problem's easy to solve: Get a 7-series to go along with your Z. :p

Unfortunately, I'd have to get an X5 with a third row seat...and even that may not be big enough!!! :D

Finally got around to replacing the ostrich Beige inserts in my doors w/LeatherZ's Evergreen leather. Did the UGDO armrest as well. Please look at my OP on page one for the link to the original thread and updated picture.

Cheers!

Many thanks! My wife was the inspiration...she makes interior changes in the house all the time. :1eye: I've been looking at other set ups for some time for ideas and a lot of other folks paved the way. After enough research, just took the gumption to do it.
