Abra in Douglasville has treated me well so far. I'm also having a bumper replaced. If I run into any problems next week, I'll let you know, but so far, I like them.

Performance Auto Collision on Hembree Rd in Alpharetta. 770-752-0099. Ask for David (owner). He isn't cheap, but there are 2 kinds of body repair shops. Theres good, and theres cheap. There is no "good & cheap."

I agree with German Car Repair and Performing Imports. I was at Performing Imports and I was very impressed.

There is a BMW shop in Powder Springs that I used when my window was smashed out when I first got the car. They did nice work.

We are headed to German Car Repair tomorrow for a check up on the wagon. We've talked to both Alan and his wife and they have been super nice on the phone. We told them we were from Club Bimmer and they sounded excited.
Seven is going in once I get her back from the body shop to check out that annoying leak.

So far I do all of my own work but I will be looking for a place to fix any dings and imperfections in the 92' 325 IC. I am going to start trying out my painting skills soon so hopefully I will not have to shop that one. Way expensive for good paint it seems.

AV and electrical stuff I can handle. Unfortunately, I have zero experience being a mechanic. Someday, if I hang around you guys long enough, I'll be able to diagnose and fix my own issues!

Alan, you beat me to it! I just got home and went straight to the computer to post about our great experience at Alan's shop. Thank you so much for the professionalism and candid advice. And I've already noticed that smell is gone, thanks sooooo much for fixing the valve! I will definitely be back to get my wagon in tip-top shape.
To the other ClubBimmer folks, I highly recommend German Car Repair in Roswell. Long drive from Douglasville, but well worth the trip.

I would love to have someone do my exhaust work, all I want is my resonator and muffler removed and have a twin pipe ran straight back from the intermediates.
Shouldn't be more than 200 bucks worth of work, but the one person I took it to wanted to rip me off . . .you guess it . . .because it's a BMW (dat dere executive cah)
*sigh*

Stig,
call me at the shop. I've got a guy that does great custom work, & is reasonable with pricing. Be careful, though. Bimmers get VERY loud with the resonator removed, especially cat equipped cars. You may get more than you want.........

Not Stig..... The louder the better, I'm sure.
But, I second Catmint on the service at Alan's shop. They were top notch. Even let us take a quick look around the shop.

Okay, mixed review for Abra in Douglasville. They ended up doing a nice job on the bumper. Matched the paint nicely and everything looks brand new.
Now the not so great part. First of all, I took the car in last Monday. The original estimate was for the car to be ready on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. I got a call on Tuesday saying it would be ready on Wednesday. Since I was going out of town, I decided to stick around a little later than planned so I could get the car. I called on Wednesday to check on it and discovered they had received some of the wrong parts and the car would not be ready until near closing time. I went on to Columbia and told them I'd get the car on Friday.
On my way home Friday, they called and told me that the car was being detailed. Then, they call back and tell me they just discovered that they forgot to paint the black lower portion of the bumper. Now, the car wouldn't be ready until Monday. So, I spent the weekend with the stupid rental.
So now we get to today. I called to make sure the car was ready and found out they didn't get the chrome trim for the bumper. They told me I could go ahead and pick up the car and that the trim would be in tomorrow. They promise it will only take 5 minutes to pop it in when I go back.
Finally, since I had it in the shop, I had asked them to take care of a couple of other minor cosmetic issues on my dime. I reminded them when I found out they'd have the car a couple of extra days, but none of those issues were taken care of or even mentioned. I decided I'd had enough and will let Alan take care of it from now on.
Final recommendation - I wouldn't go back if I'm the one paying the bill. They were nice enough and really apologetic, but there were just too many oversights for my comfort level.

I'd love to check it out, does Saturday work for you? I'll stop by early in the morning if necessary and I'm pretty sure this is where I would like to go with it.
If not, oh well, I can always back out and put a muffler on it later.

It's not so much needing a car, it's just being able to get to your shop in a time while your open :( Canton is a bit of a drive from Douglasville and definitely a trek from Bolton road in Riverside . . .
Oh well . . . . *kicks rock*

I deal with Indy shops everyday. Magnum Collision is pricey but is worth is soo worth it. They did the body/paint restoration on my 84 318i. Flippin' flawless! Global sent their guys through the BMW body training program. So they are certified.
For a smaller shop, I recommend John Holt @ Hot wheels in Marietta. He did the same thing for half the cost on my e30 325i. I have known john for many years. Great work and fair pricing. 847 Barnes Mill Rd. Marietta, Ga. 30062 (770)-422-8412
Mechanical shops? I always use where I work, yes, the "stealer."
However, The only other place I would trust Is Buckhead Motor Works. John, Brett, and Tony are Great people! 404-255-1516.
For Interior/ convertible top work I like Charles at Marietta auto Trim. Sorry, I don't have the number.
When the odometer goes out in your car, Call Hamp Smith at Speedometer services. He is in Alpharetta. I don't have his number handy either. Sorry.

I take my 04 E46 to Carma off Peachtree Industrial, just inside 285. ALex and Will are awesome and didn't try to rip me off, unlike the dealer who tried to tell me there was over $2k wrong that really wasn't. Give them a call-great work and honest! 404-237-1001

I had a cps replaced this week at German Autowerks in Doraville. $300 cheaper than Performing Imports which replaced one two months ago. Rob is the owner and mechanic. He came recommended from Gran Turismo East. Performing did a great job on my Dinan stuff, but it is too far away and too pricey for SES stuff.
My car always goes either to MBM of Atlanta on LaVista Road or my boyfriend's garage. For tires I go to Gran Turismo East. I had a dent on the inside of my wheel a few months ago (don't ask), and they fixed it and charged me way less than the wheel repair places. Y'all have to call me if you ever go to either cuz I live between the two and the guys in the car club I'm in love to meet BMW guys.
