Has anyone had any experience converting their manual steering to power steering? My 325i has a bit of slop in the front end, so I'm going to have to do some work there anyway, so I thought while I was at it I'd consider converting to power steering.

I'm hoping it wouldn't bee too complicated, and that I'd be adding a pump & brackets, likely a new crank pulley & belt, a PS rack, and the hoses. Am I completely off base here?

Thanks in advance.

I thought E30's have power steering.

Because I definitely broke mine last year.

Well, mine certainly doesn't have power steering, and it's heavy as hell. I remember clearly that my old e21 320i was a lot heaver than my '83 Corolla (RWD w/manual steering), but it wasn't as heavy as this e30.

Your power steering might be broken? I dunno, I know that mine has it, and it is a '90.

Nope... it just isn't there... no pump, no belt & no reservoir.
