Wagons are pimp....But I like the STI a lot more.
One of the perks a wagon has is that you get more "junk in the trunk".

It looks like you have made you mind up about getting a Subaru. I'd stick with the STi with the fresh engine. Why does a 64k miles car have a new engine? Maybe overmodded? Who knows. All I know is a new engine makes that car more interesting.
DerekNitroRC

@Halston, it was my Outback
@Mitch I didn't see that #4 had a new engine, where did you catch that?
BMRSEB

I think Mitch meant #3 which has had an engine replacement.
And looking back at the cars, the red wagon (as mentioned by others), seems to be the better choice; it's cheaper, decent miles ~87K, probably less insurance costs and you can always mod it for more power..

And either way, it is all good. You can easily make a regular WRX as fast as the STi.
I just have a thing for STi's in that blue color.:mf_dribble:

insurance is only different by $3
how hard would it be to make it equivalent to a sti hp wise?
e30bmw
02-18-2009, 08:33 PM
I would imagine not that hard. But if the insurance is only $3 I might just get the STi. And if I was getting on of the WRXs, I would get the black wagon, I think it looks a lot better than the red.

3 dollars? For Geico?
I would call back and confirm. Geico RAPES 'performance cars'. They are anti-radar detector and support laws banning them and stricter speeding laws and a host of other crap.

Turbo....Take away a turbo from an STI and u loose all that power.
So u could either turbo or do a full STI swap.
Personally I would pick the STI, just my opinion tho.

The engine was replaced b/c...their engines only last to like 100k miles sooo i mean, that could be why.

the WRX has a turbo as well
Halston, I was getting a quote from Allstate to get a reference point. Full coverage for me would be around $139 a month for either Subaru vs the $240 they quoted me for my 328is (but that was a year and a half ago)

They will give you a 300hp STI for 139 a month and a lowly 328iS is 240 a month?
Crikey!

I wanted to get an STI before I got my 328is but I couldn't afford one at the time where I was working, now that I can afford one, I really badly want one.

I don't get it either, Geico was the only insurance company to quote me under $200 for my car...and CRIKEY is what I'm going to put on my license plate if I get a STI :p
:director: Moding a WRX to the HP of STI is like taking a 325I and making it an M3 clone:cursing:<----------------:nono:
essentially that is what I have done with my 328is but didn't badge it as a M3, I could really care less what other Subaru owners in Atl would have to say if I converted a WRX into a STI. I would even do the STI badging. I have a different kind of respect for Subaru's than I do for BMW. The M series is more legendary than the STI and has a higher reputation. idk, it is like comparing apples and bananas

The race car? I don't know the mods exactly, but I am not sure you can make an E36 M3 faster than an STi without going FI. I might be wrong, Halston might want to chime in about his car.
