What brand wax do you use?

I use Zymol Carbon on my 3 cars. I love the stuff, in fact I apply it with my bare hands and take it off with a microfiber towel. This past Friday evening was spent waxing the Ferrari, every single gorgeous curve on that car is freshly waxed now. Took me like 5 hours to do!

What kinda wax do you use? What application and removal technique do you use?

I use Rain Dance, pre-softened paste.. Hand applied to the BMWs, and buffered on wifey's Camry.
Used it for years; easy on/off, and lasts a long time (even on the Camry, which gets car-washed, as opposed to the BMWs loving hand washes. Twice a year does it.
Maybe I was using the expensive stuff wrong, but I found Carbon only lasted about a month.
And I've got better things to do in my old age (like drive,.....and ride!!!!).

My detail guy, Jim Thomas with On Site Shine only uses Zymol stuff, he said the Concours stuff is outstanding. I still use the Zymol Carbon on all my cars. I love the stuff.

What kinda wax do you use? What application and removal technique do you use?

From my testing I have the following information that may help you.
Wax lasts about four weeks.
Sealant lasts about five months.
I use Meguiar’s professional line but you can find many good waxes and sealants OTC at the local auto store. Pick one you like and try it.
Zymol is a good product line and if you are satisfied with it keep on using it.
Preparation is the key to creating that near flawless finish you are looking for.
Steer away from Liquid ICE…pure marketing BS. Lasts about a week!
Do use cleaned Micro Fiber products as these will not instill scratches.
Do not use cotton products as they are abrasive enough to instill micro scratches.
Have fun, take your time, before and after pictures.

Yes I use Micro fiber towels with Zymol, I have excellent results.

I've used Meguire's exclusively for over 20 years, always applied by hand. I would love to say that I only use my buffing wheel on my wife's car..but I would be lying. She drives a Honda and I don't waste any time on that piece of junk. You can't polish a turd.

On her new Toureg, the buffing wheel will get more of a workout.

I use Pinnacle Souveran Wax. After multiple coats of Klasse AIO and Klasse Sealant Glaze, it goes on and comes off like butter. I love the stuff.

I use Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket as a sealant. As a wax I use P21. My feelings are if you polish and detail the car right the difference between a good sealant and a good wax is hardly noticeable on the car but very noticeable in your wallet.

I'm a Griot's user. Most of the time I use the carnauba paste wax, but I went with the best of show liquid on my e46 touring i just bought. I spent about 10 hours on the car last weekend getting rid of a lot of the imperfections the po decided to leave behind. Car looks awesome now. I probably would have paid an extra grand (at least) if it would have looked like this when we bought it.

My detail guy - Kent Rayfield at Finish Line Details (www.finishlinedetails.com) - uses ONLY Griot's Garage products. Car wash, paint cleaning clay, machine polishing and Best of Show wax (3 coats). It usually takes him and one of his assistants about a day and a half to prep my car for a show, but the results (below) speak for themselves:

Lol no, I air-dry the microfiber's after I wash them. I dry the car with a synthetic chamois.

A friend of mine also got me on to Clay Bar....He put some of it on my car and after he put it on it felt as soft as a baby...unreal application. Lot of work putting it on and off though...I have that on my list to do next.(clay Bar the cars)...
