I might go check this out because it is less than 10 miles from my house. If it seems legit and I can get it down to a grand, I might buy it. What do you think? I know there isn't much info on the ad, and that seems cheap, but I might as well check it out.

It may not be an E30, but it would probably be faster in a straight line and more comfortable to drive. And I am not sure about this, but if I felt truly evil, I could probably find a bolt-on SC for a Chevy V8...

Really?!?!? How? Did they use GM engines or something?

I am confused, please clarify this.

You said a Chevy v8 s/c might work on that car. I'm assuming that means it must have a GM v8 of some kind?

Might as well check it out. I smell stinky fish.
No sir, do not SC that motor. you can get more power than you need for that chassis with NA

Yeah, the ad says that it has a Chevy V8/transmission swapped in it. I was confused for a moment because I had a brain fart and forgot that GM owned Chevy, I was confusing Chevy with Chrysler for whatever reason.

This is true. Both times, I am going to check it out, but something seems weird about it.
And I would have to find out what Chevy V8 is in that car.

Honestly I would hope there is nothing but a 350 in it. Anything else could be more trouble than you can imagine. Make sure you find out the tranny model. Find out about gearing and rear end too. It would be easy to blow and tranny and rear end with a V8.

Yeah, I would definitely find out more info before I bought it. My mom wasn't too enthusiastic when me and my dad were talking about this. But my dad plans to sell his current W123 when he fixes a few more things, so we would be back to 3 cars.

Haha, I probably won't buy it, but it is worth checking out. I will be getting a different car either next fall or the one after that(depending on where I go to college). It will probably be another E30, but who knows?

Wait, are you saying that is the one in the car? If so, how do you know? Or is that just the one that should be? And I won't be buying it if it is an auto...

HA HA. You have ADD too. It gives the tranny model on the listing. odds are that a 350 is linked up to it based on the tranny's that model replaced. With some work, this would actually be a cool sleeper.
BTW, if you want a sleeper, I personally would rather have an 80's Volvo wagon with a Ford 5.0

Damn, I just noticed that. I really want an stick. And I really want a 240 wagon with a swap. Maybe LS1.

You don't want a stick with that motor. Be glad it is auto.

Wow talk about a sleeper. Everyone knows a regular 240D could not out run the wind, but with a 350 in it, it WOULD get out of it's own way. Pretty interesting idea on a terribly boring car.

I went and looked and meh...
In terms of condition, it is easily poor, and the engine looked very old and dirty. Sounded really good though!

Would have, but all I had was my camera on my phone and it doesn't have flash.

Didn't drive it, it was sort of late. I might head back, and if it is still there see what it feels like.
