I will go out and visit as many BMW Dealerships as I can. I will report back to this site with my findings and with photos. I think this is a service to ClubBimmer.com members. If you have a personal experience with a BMW Dealer, I'd like to know more about it! THANKS!

I purchased my car from Global Imports. The salesman I worked with was somewhat difficult to understand and didn't do some of the things that he said he would. Aside from that, Global Imports gets an A+. My sunroof shade was jamming my sunroof so I took it in 4 days after I bought it and had it fixed and detailed. They gave me a loaner car and did a great job. I called the service Dept. to ask a few questions about my cars past, all of my questions were answered and I was introduced to Clubbimmer.com. I would recomend Global Imports to other members

I think this forum is the best idea on here. Dealers always want to know a non biased opinion. I plan on going to United to test drive some cars in the next week or so. I will write down and share my opinions.

I have not purchased a car from this dealership, but, I have purchased several parts. I have been very impressed with the parts department, very professional, and extremely fast in filling orders. Some in our community state they are expensive, but, due to the age and rareness of my car, they have gone out of the way to service me. Their parts department has made me a satisfied customer. Such then when I am ready to buy new, I will go there first.

I have some BMW friends in Illinois, if they are nearby I'll send them over to see Motor Werk. I always like recommendations.
My first experiences with BMW/MINI began in April '05 when I purchased my first MINI Cooper S from Global Imports - MINI Cooper, Atlanta. I purchased a second MINI Cooper S Cabrio from the sample dealership in Aug '05. And I made my third purchase from Global Imports - BMW in Oct 06, a very nice 335i Coupe.
My relationship with the dealership was first established by the sales staff, Diane on the Cooper side and Pete on the BMW side. Both were very professional yet had that personal touch that really helped you feel a part of the family...that you meant something to them besides a sale. Of course I knew the sale had a lot to do with it...I paid MSRP with each purchase!
In Sept of this year I purchased a third MINI Cooper S but chose to purchase from MINI of South Atlanta because a member of the AtlantaMINIS auto club worked there and offered great deals to the membership...let's just say less than MSRP which was a first in my buying experience with BMW. I liked the idea of a great sales experience which also included a great bargain so I traded the 07 335i coupe on Oct 31st for an 07 X5xi 4.8.
Yep, got a great deal and a club member got to keep their job a little longer:)
I will admit I called United BMW before closing the deal but I chose to drive another 75 miles to make the purchase because I just couldn't make a connection with their sales staff. They didn't seem to be as knowledgeable about their product nor helpful in making a selection. At first they said they didn't even have any 07 X5xi 4.8's but wanted to sell me an 08 with more add-ons than you could count on two hands; then when I said I had found what I felt would meet my needs they started to try to sell me an 07. You know what they say about first impressions...you only get one chance...they blew it.
So the bottom line is I now have a dealership I can be proud to recommend and looking forward to my next purchase in the Spring...I'm third in line for the new 135i or if they offer it a 135tii. Call Amanda for your Cooper needs or Adrian for your BMW needs...both know their product and want to know you, too.
I haven't mentioned service at either of the dealerships because I just haven't needed any, yet; but, I know when I do it will be MoSA, too.

Mitch........I always go on 1st impressions at the dealerships from the sales staff. (I'd be curious on your "adventure", to head there in a non-BMW/European car). Its still amazing to see the treatment depending on what you drive up in these days.
I would say that when we had the 328 from Global (dating myself to 1998), the initial salesperson was excellent, service though was 50/50. The actual service was great, getting it schedule/done was bad, calling serivce and getting a recording all-the-time.......
Beginning of this year was at the United in Roswell (pulled in with the Z3 at that time), and they were very nice, not a problem to test-drive a 6 series (not M though), and low pressure. I will also say that United is a big supporter of the BMWCCA/GA Chapter, which puts some extra points in the pot.

Do you have any idea what retail on the 1 Series is gonna be in the US?

I've no idea on the MSRP on the 135i, I'll find out for ya.
I visited Global Imports BMW today and will do a full report on my experiences. In a nutshell, its is an AMAZING BMW dealership.

I have purchased two cars from BMW of Macon, a used 2000 Z3 roadster and a new 2006 Z4 roadster. I have always had very good service from their sales staff as well as their service dept. The Z3 was Impala Brown, which is the color I requested. My salesman, Rui, found the exact car I wanted. When I decided to buy a new Z4, he was very helpful. He arranged for me to pick up my Z4 and go to the driving school. This was a great experience. The service dept. has always been great to work with. My experience with Macon BMW has truly been "The Ultimate Dealer Experience.":
