I can't wait to drive the M5.....so much discussion of it's awesomeness I just have to experience it for myself!

No no no....the #1 law of driving a E39 M5, is the wait until COMPLETE clutch engagment before you floor the throttle. It will smoke it's clutch as fast as a Diablo. I'm 100% telling the truth.

I've not let ANYONE drive the M5, you might luck out young Mach.

I do understand, no worries brother. I'm know that a ride with you is the next best thing. You are capable of scaring the shizz out of me, it's why I dig you.:nono:

And at one point you thought it was only for trucks. :D

It's good to see that you are still evolving

Next time I watch Back to the Future. I am going to time how long it takes the Delorian to reach 88mph

 That's not always accurate. In the Fast & the Furious it takes them like 45 seconds and 17 upshifts to run a sub 10 second 1/4 mile race in a 5-spd car.

sub 10 second 1/4 mile race

Which is in itself, an almost impossible task in a street car.

Philip's post just cracked me up. The M5 is in the garage ready to devour a quick 250 miles to Edisto Island. I love the damn car.

I drove mine to montreal Canada and back this summer. This car is amazing for long road trips.

I would love to see some of the pics from that weekend. Didn't someone say something about burning me a disc?
