We sold Melanie's 318 a few days ago to get her something that would be better on the highway. I have spent the last few days driving all over Ga looking at sh*t-box after over priced sh*t-box.
I know you guys are pretty good at finding cars for sale, so if anyone knows of a decent car in the $2500 range please post a link. We need to get her a car by tomorrow.
The main things she's looking for are:
BMW e30 (duh)
BMW e36 318ti/318is
VW Golf/GTI III
VW Jetta III
Preferably manual tranny, but not 100% necessary. Needs to be able to be driven to Ellijay as is.
Thanks.

Seb, what's the diff between a Jetta GL and GT?
If I remember correctly the GT was basically a sport(ier) GL; Sport seats, upgraded wheels, roof antenna, rear deck spoiler, foglights, power sunroof, tinted rear taillights. Engine was the same, the 2.0L 4.
I think the next step up was a GLS, which was an upgraded GL, power everything and optional leather(?). The GLX was a GT with power everything and the VR6 engine.

Trade the Jetta in on your old 318i.
I was thinking that...
He took it to a mechanic and the guy basically told him he needed quite a bit done to make it decently reliable..
He said All the engine gaskets [basically] needed replacing. Also the front seal and rear in the oil pan needed replacing. And a tie rod.
Im not sure. The jetta will sell cheap for 3k. But its very reliable and dosnt have any problems. Im stuck. I want my old car back badly but I dont want to have problems. I did find this. What do yall think?
