745 radio problem...im pissed....

ok so here is the deal.... my radio blows... it only plays in mono now.... i have no idea why.... it just started doin it and hasnt been fixed. i dont even kno if it can be fixed...... any help would be gretly appreciated.... is there any way i can switch it out for the european version?

well its not under warrnty anymore.... but i took it in 3 times when it was under warranty and they kept saying they fixed my radio but it kept coming back........ is there anyting i can still do?

Yes. Take it back to the dealer and demand that they fix it since it obviously showed problems under warranty and obviously wasn't properly repaired. They can still get it covered under warranty if they want to, they just need a reason.
Start off nice and if they try to deny you the service (which they most likely will) then start making noise on the forums. You'll be surprised just how quickly they change their story. BimmerFest.com is a great place to do that because many dealerships sponsor the site and watch the posts for this exact type of situation. They have people whose job is to do damage control on forums. People successfully get dealerships to cut the bullsh*t all the time by simply posting exactly what's going on BFest.

They don't HAVE to fix anything and I doubt complaining on the forums will do too much in reality.

You can certainly try but if your radio failed, they fix it, it fails again etc etc you should have been right back in there immediately. Not days or weeks or months later.

They don't have to. You'd be very surprised just how much you can get done by publishing what the dealer tells you. I know people on BimmerFest that had cars replaced because they made a little noise when BMW or the dealer tried to screw them.

Probably could have gotten them replaced by citing from Lemon Laws. Don't need the forum for that.

the last time i went in they said that they couldnt find a problem with it. they kept it for a week. they just reset my computer. now the person i was dealing with told me that they would make a note of it since my warranty was about to expire that if i had problems to take itin but then again he didnt say he would extend warranty on that particular item of my car. so i dont kno. another thing is i have my sub system installed already. so im thinking they are going to give me sh*t for that.

Take it out and take it back in. Who cares if he made a 'note' or not. It is your word against his word.

Here is what I do when it comes to these things.

Ask nicely and be cordial. If they are being really stubborn then just kind of raise your voice and draw a scene. Jeep was refusing to replace my trans that lost reverse because of 'abuse'. None of which could be proven and why does reverse go out from off-roading(Yes I off-roaded the **** out of it) but I just said out loud in a crowded service area "What is the point of me buying an extended warranty if you won't honor the warranty on parts expressly listed in my contract?"

They scooted me into the service managers office and fixed the trans :)

ok so update on this......... they ended up replacing an amp. now i still have one problem. the speakers in the front are blown out. where can i find replacements? it the 2 tweeters on the door
and the speakers on the doors. the front only.
