Some f*ck bag keyed my car. I am too furious to put into words, so I'll just get to the point.
It's not terribly deep, and I think it will buff out with a high-speed rotary, but I'm no expert. It's about a foot long above the rear passenger wheel. I also have some light scratches and stuff in the paint all over the rest of the car from normal wear and tear.
So I basically want to just have the whole thing buffed out and try to get rid of the scratches as much as possible.
I know some of you guys know a lot about detailing etc, so I figured I should come on here and ask for recommendations before just going to the local detail place and forking over $150.

Thanks,
-philip

You sure it was keyed and not just an accident. Normally if someone keyed your car it is pretty obvious and you can see the metal.

You will need some serious detail gear to get it done right.

This man knows, If it was keyed its usually not gonna come out because they do it hard and to the metal.

It sounds like it was someone accidentally dragging something down the poor M3. It sucks still.

Or it could be someone to just kind of didn't like you so they didn't try very hard :)

Ive seen old lady's walking and run into a car with their purse and scratch a car.

LOL if your keying a car you hate the person your doing it to, esp if there in a BMW.

That is why I don't plan on taking a nice BMW to college, just a crappy E30. You are just asking for some f*cktard to key your car. I can't stand people who mess with other people's cars, especially in a way that isn't easily remedied.

And, sorry to hear that, Philip.

Is the keyed area down to the metal?

Can you catch your fingernail on the keyed area?

Could you post up a photo of the scratch?

People that key cars should be shot on sight!

1. I'm pretty sure someone did it intentionally.
2. I hope they die slowly of a bacterial infection in their rectum that they contract from being gang-raped by HIV positive hobos downtown.
3. I can barely feel it when I do the finger nail test.
4. I'll post a pic in a little while.

Just FYI since you seem to believe you were keyed. Remember you threw a milkshake/lemonade on someone for cutting you off? You yelled at a gas station full of people and called them '****ing retards'.

If you continue to act in that manner someone is going to follow you home and just might key your car.

Have to keep it 'low key' or you are asking for problems.

I sincerely doubt any of those ass holes followed me all the way home and keyed my car. Probably just some jealous scumbag lifetime apartment-dweller taking out their hatred for their own miserable existence on my car.

I don't think you understand what I am trying to convey.

You threw a drink into someones brand new Jaguar because they cut you off(you are still alive so it couldn't have been that bad) and yet someone may have damaged your car intentionally and you believe they should die a slow pain death.

Don't you see the irony in that?

Not trying to be mean but you seem to only see one side, the side you want to see.

That was not really necessary. Not everyone has the chance or job training or skills to get to the point to buy a house. Nice to loop them into one big group though.

If Philip has DEEP gouges he may need some extra work.

I definitely wouldn't call it a gouge. I dont even think it's down to the primer. Just clear coat and maybe paint.

if it is at all to the paint. it will require extra work. as that exposed paint will allow the clear around it to open up
