So.. I thought I would go ahead and join, being that I've gone to a few meets already, and have met quite a few of you.. Phil and Mitch, included!

My cousin's a member, and currently rocks a super mint, super kleeeen Estoril '97 M3... gorgeous. So yea, he usually drags me to all the meets, although, I never object!!! :luxhello:

I've always wanted a BMW, and lately have been looking at an E92 M3, or just playing it safe and going with a new 135i...? ugh! Until then, looks like I'll be steady-rockin' my '05 S2000... Original owner, and no doubt, loving every second of it! :D

Just wanted to drop by and say 'yello!!!!! :thumbup1:

-Tylor

oh, and for those who went to the Varsity meet this last weekend, I was definitely in attendance :P here's my car for a little jog of your memory :D

Oh, and I forgot to add... Quite a few of you might be happy to know, I'm the Special-OE Engineer for a little company named Hella ;)
...just in case any of you happen to have any technical questions or such, regarding any of our lighting products for your fine cars.. :thumbup1: I'd be glad to help!

Ahh you work for Hella. Do you know Kornhause? He is a good friend of mine.

I love your car. As for not being a BMW owner, join the club. I don't own one either. Instead of owning a BMW, I just admit I am here becase BMW does make the ultimate driving machine.

hahaha.. yup! that's crazy! Scott Kornhaus is my best friend actually! lol!!! I've been here at Hella now for going on 2 years, and have been in the same position since... Scott is in Marketing now.. but, anyways...

Yes, absolutely.. I would have to agree, unlike Honda... (well certain models.. lol), BMW certainly has quite the driving machines! :mf_dribble:

Nice to meet you man.. I'm Tylor

That's pretty cool. How do they attach? (and how many rolls of blue tape is that?)

haha, thanks seņor! lol.. Well I had designed a light bar, and clamping system that will alow for me to attach the light bar through the grill opening, and onto the OE front subframe brace. All it takes is about 5minutes to put it on the car, and take it back off if I'd like. I already have the relays, and wire harnesses pre-wired and tucked away neatly under my hood, with the Female pigtails for each of the driving lights and fog lights neatly attached to my lower subframe. All I have to do to attach the Light Bar Assembly, is undo my OE front subframe brace, clamp the Light Bar onto the brace, re-bolt the subframe brace back onto the car, and connect the pigtails for each light up to the master harness, and I'm done. It's pretty trick actually! :mf_dribble: haha

Oh, and I think it was something like 3x 2" 3M rolls, and 2x 1" 3M rolls... haha, I started to just do my front bumper the night before, and eventually started drinking beer after beer, and ended up doing this kickass checkered stripes along the bodylines on the sides of the car... haha, I stepped back, and was like, you know, I bet it'd look kickass half-blue!! haha.. and yup, before you knew it.. 7 hours later, I had a half Silverstone and half 3M Blue S2000... hahahahaha

lol.. what can I say.. I had a little too much time on my hands.. haha :(

I've been wanting to put 2 Hella 7" driving lights behind the mesh in my lower grill for a while. Too bad I have absolutely no reason to do it besides "it would look kick ass".

Yea, well.. haha, I honestly don't like the looks of the light bar on my car.. haha, but trust me, function>looks!!!! :mf_popcorn::luxhello: Alot of people have ridden with me with the light bar on, and I have gotten nothing but compliments, and "Jesus, it looks like you've got the sun on the front of your car!!!" lol..

But yea, let me know, maybe sometime we can get together, and I can work out a light bar design/concept for ya... it should be relatively easy.. :)

buuuuut, you'll have to buy the lights on your own patna' ;) lol

For me, nothing.. ;)
For you, the cost of purchasing the lights on your own, and the cost of parts and fabrication of any/all bracketry.. My labor of designing it on my own time, and installing it for you, would be free of course :D :luxhello:

yeah e36, have depo headlights.

I will be wanting to do something simlar to the quad 100w H4 powered 5.75" rounds I had on my last car, that can replace the high beams I have now. those were fun on roadtrips :)

Sounds good.. I could probably do a modular fitment into where your highbeam would regularly be located, and replace the reflector with a Eurobeam 146mm Driving Light and we would probably up the anty with some 130w bulbs just for fun ;) Now that'd be pretty pimpilicious :D haha

Screw lights in the grill! I want killer high-beams too.

TylorWeaver
09-23-2008, 05:58 PM
Hahaha.. bleh, we might have to up the wire gauge a little though, I'm not too sure what an E36 runs stock for wiring.. I'd have to check my little book of tricks. I think we'd be safe though, we'll just have to pop in a larger fuse and go from there.. see if any of the wires catch fire first, then make changes... LOLZ!!

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Modding the high beams? Why?

It is installed in a harness, to run that kind of power you would need to build a relay harness with some pretty beefy wire. Lots of work for something rarely used. Why not buy a 55W HID kit for 100 bucks, plug and play and be done with it? You can't flash them anymore but flashing 130W highs would be extremely dangerous in an unshielded housing.

Um what?

You want to be blinded by that kind of light coming towards you? When you can't see?

Up to a point sure it is kind of cool but when you get to the point of endangering people is it really fun anymore?

In a perfect world I would have laser beams/rocket launchers on the front of my car to vaporize ass holes. If I just blind them with 130W of Hella goodness they should thank their lucky stars that I'm not a billionaire like Bruce Wayne.

That is not the story you told Nick and I. You said it was a fresh milkshake and you threw it AT him after he cut you off and it exploded all over him.

This is Atlanta man, I would seriously be careful. That type of road rage and you will get dragged out of your car and get your ass beat.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha, alright, so those were two funny-ass stories in a row right there.. lol, Throwing a Chick-fil-a lemonade at someone in traffic, and punching a dude in the bathroom.. LMAO... hahahaha, I am rolling over here Phil!!!!!! hahahahaha

But yea, I've had people before like throw their cigarette's out of their cars like right in front of me, and the butt bounces off the ground and makes a fine ash trail up the center of my hood and bumper.. ohhh, I've whipped around people before slammed on my brakes and threw a whole cup of ice out of my car at them before.. lmao.. like, how do you like that you douchebox!!!!? Seriously, I don't have roadrage, or anything.. but I seriously hate it, when others don't have respect for you on the road.. You've gotta show them what's up!! ya know?? lol

Oh, and don't even get me started on high beams.. I get flashed ALLLLLL the time for my damn low-beams!!!! :( lol.. so I'd wait for them to get like closer to me, like right about a car length away from my driver-side fender, and I'd flash my REAL highbeams (55w 3200k xenons) at them, honk my horn (2x Hella B133 Supertones and Hella Triple-Tone Fanfair Airhorns), and rev my engine up to 8k... like, talk about loud and annoying.. I just want to make them feel like total ass-hats... Yea, you idiot, my highbeams weren't on... would you really like to see them?? lol

But, seriously... Phil... you crack my ass up. LOL

Oh, and a quick ps.. I only act out on my roadrage against someone like driving a slower car than mine... ie; Toyota Camry's, Toyota Prius', Honda Fit's, any Hyundai, any Daihatsu, any Kia, Minivan's, SUV's, and some Harley ass-holes.. lol... Because with a quick downshift and press on the accelerator.... Confrontation avoided :)

So, like for instance, a douchebag driving a Camry cuts me off, then gets besides me and honks, I pull in front of him, drop all of my center-console change out of my window, and skoot! I'm gone. lol.. hahaha, jk..

But yea, I've only had one dude give me a hard time, but we was pretty big, and was driving a C5 Z06.. lol..
