The Bugatti Veyron is already considered to be the supercar supreme with a rarefied 300 unit production run for the 1,000-hp beast and a top speed of 253 mph. The Veyron's already ridiculous stats will be getting a boost if you believe a "secret and confidential" memo stating that Bugatti will end the Veyron's production with a bang. The rumored GT edition of the Veyron will have mad sick power to the tune of 1,350 horsepower and 1018 lb-ft of torque, and upgraded ceramic brakes with new active aerodynamics to control all that power. Apply all that force to the pavement and you'll hit 62 mph in a mere 2.4 seconds while being able to stop the car from there in another 2.2 seconds, and its new top speed will reportedly be 264 mph. To keep the mighty Veyron planted to the cement, the rumored GT will also receive an upgraded electronic stability program. That would make abundant sense considering power is being increased by 30% over the "base" Veyron.

If you are one of the 200 or so people to already own a $1.4 million dollar Veyron, you reportedly won't be left out in the dark, either. According to the alleged memo, all Veyrons will be able to be retrofitted with the upgrade. The memo states that the Veyron GT would be available March 2009 and be the last iteration before the next-gen Veyron arrives around 2012.

yup, its the automotive version of the concord. truely a marvel.

Its one thing to make a car with 1000+ hp(like the linginfelter(sp?) vette, or the turbo S7) its another thing to make it handle that power and not break.

What? An F1 car has ~700-750hp. Well short of the Veyron. Going from 100 to 200hp is not quite that impressive but when you are talking 800 to 900 to 1,000 you are talking some serious work.

Yeah, I can't wait until they start modding the new Viper, the one with 600 hp stock. And my favorite article that I have read in a car magazine was the one with the 0-200 mph shootout. Viper beat the Veyron and everything else. Driver said that the car had so much power that it was still trying to go sideways in 3rd gear.

I wasn't commenting on the Viper comments. I've seen a Veyron drive by me near the lake and nearly threw up in my mouth. It is a very well engineered car with amazing specs, but that is one of the ugliest cars on Earth.

I've never driven a Viper and probably never will. I know they are amazing as well but they are not my cup of tea.

Most people hate on them and don't even have a first hand experience. You can have your opinion but I don't like blind opinions with no experience.

Since you do have experience I will let your opinion ride.

It just like anything with me. Hate on Barrack Obama and the only thing you know is he is a democrat. Hate on a viper because it 'can't handle' yet you have never driven it.

Lots of that goes around on forums and it is one of my biggest dislikes.

Which is also why I am so impressed with the HV. I don't know what its top speed is, but the Veryron was designed to do 250 and minimize drag. The Viper doesn't look like that was its only goal in designing the body. I am sure it is really aerodynamic, just not as much as the Veyron. And if you buy a Veyron, that is like saying, I am really rich and don't really know stuff about cars. I would much rather have a HV to rape people in drag races or CCXR for overall performance.
