Get your wallet warmed up and go either buy Dinan or GruppeM. Everything else is inferior.

Dinan or Cosmos Dinan Rep.
All the others are HAI.

Dinan reps FTL. They are 3" instead of 3.5" and... they are reps. Ghey.

IIRC they make a 3.5" now :)

You pretty much cannot go wrong with a Dinan set, or best of all is the Gruppe M. I have the Gruppe M on the M5 and it is GLORIOUS!!
Go for the Gruppe M!

+1
On the E36 M3 you lose a tiny bit of low-end with the GruppeM but the top end pull and sound you get make it well worth it. I had a GruppeM on mine and sold it for a Dinan ONLY because I was a Dinan rep at the time. Now I wish I didn't.

What about Conforti?

I personally only like Dinan or Dinan reps. From my personal driving experience all the others heat soak. I had the ECIS and the Conforti on my car and during track events they would heat soak. The Gruppe M appears to be the same overall design as the others so I would think similar results would be had. Cannot say for 100% certainty because I have tested one.

Conforti is a Dinan knock-off with a foam filter. The ones with heat-shields theoretically shouldn't heat-soak though.

Yah in 'theory' they shouldn't. Road Atlanta in July. They do ;)
Conforti is a short ram intake. Nothing like Dinan.
thing is i dont want a cold air intake since i live in florida and uhmmm the reason my car is F***ed right now is cuz i pulled out of my neighborhood and i had water up to my sidemarkers :( no dinan KTHX! plus i dont track my car so im not worried about "heat soaking" its just that my current intake sits on my alternator and i mean literally SITS on it, so anything would be an improvement, i think ima go with the cheap-ass K&N, thanks homies!

Well I don't want to sound like a jackass but I have lived in Chicago winters and summers in GA and driving through hood deep puddles would also suck in water in any of the other intakes... That is driver error.
4 years now with Dinan and never one problem. On my 3rd filter and always replace the water sock.

I don't even use the water sock. I'm a true gangster.
