Also put on a new bumper, but I dont have any good before pics, so just take my word for it...it was bad.
Only a few more minor things to do and it will be perfect!

Amazing work. That guy needs some props for doing all of that. The most amazing thing is how quickly it was all done.

IIRC 95 M3's were the last year of the oil based paint from BMW. So an Avus with some elbow grease turns out very nice!

You are correct sir. OBD2 cars have orange peel paint.

The cars looks great, but I thought it looked great last time I saw it at GTE. Was the work on the seats expensive, they looked just like mine.

Car looks beautiful Dan! Thanks for sharing the pics!
I got permission to post his contact informantion!
Jim Grosshans is the master that does the interior, paint repairs and other repairs. His phone # is 404-271-1638.
Call him, you might need to leave a vmail, he is VERY busy.
FYI -This is the guy that the local Lamborghini/Lotus/BMW dealer calls to do ALL paint repairs on their cars. Jim was working on a 07 Lamborghini Murcielago when I was talking to him this morning. He is a master at paint color matching.

Pricing really depends on how much you want him to do. I really cant say what the exact prices are, just give him a call Im sure he will be happy to give you a quote. I would say around $75 to do a bolster and up to 2-300 per full seat, off hte top of my head
On a side note, I had another guy offer to buy my car at a stop light last night:lol:

You've got to be kidding me? If you turned down a $12k offer you'd be dumb. If you turned down a $15k offer you'd be downright retarded.
I almost sold mine for $13k last week to one our salesman. He wound up buying a new 528i instead. :confused1:

12k can go screw themselves, I might entertain an offer of 15k though, but I doubt it.
Its the car Ive always wanted, and now I have it. I RULE!
Plus you try finding another avus on black thats this nice!
Mitch
07-29-2008, 05:51 PM
You are both right. You can find $12k M3s all day long, HOWEVER with as much time and money that Dan has invested in that car, I don't blame him at all for not selling at $15k. I totally understand.

yeah good luck finding any M3 where you can say the only thing wrong with it is the airbag light is on and the glove box sags....and thats IT.

Nope and nope.
Gorilla glue and about 25 binder clips. It's rock-solid and looks good as new. It even feels solid when you close it. :luxhello:

Oooooohhh..
Well, I don't see how it would affect that at all. I just glued the 2 layers of the glovebox lid together and clamped them overnight.

ahhh, well then yes I will try that. You just mean the inner and outer part of the lid right? If its that easy I will do it tonight.

There are plenty of nice M3's out there I can assure you of that. You just have to look. Don't look on bf.c and forums. Look elsewhere. They pop up and are all over. They sold soooo many there are plenty that are clean and in good shape.
If you did sell for 15K you could easily buy one off the forums in good shape for less and walk away with cash.
Mine is for sale for 25,000 if anyone ever asks. If someone offered 20 SOLD immediately. Perfect starter car for an Alpharetta teen :)

your missing the point, I wanted an avus on black, and I have it. Yes I can get a nice 95 for 12k or less all day long, but it wont be avus on black, and it wont be anywhere near as nice as mine.
So you want it, your gonna have to pay!

Dude, there are less avus/black 95's than avus/dove, but either color combo is far from rare. If you wanted to find another one you totally could.

I killed a rarer car :)
Alpine w/ Mulberry - I stripped it and tore everything out haha
I also due to thrashing it around on track tore a hole in the front driver door panel where the shoulder bolster meets the door panel.
Whoops :)

Meh
Who cares. There are more e36 M3's
I am kind of getting bored with it. Just sits mostly and I can't work out the misfire after the Barber HPDE. Maybe pull the motor and play with it :mf_popcorn:

Prolly gonna do it this winter and put it in all dirty style hah
I think I might have slightly damaged the HG and it only comes out to be a problem when it is VERY VERY VERY hot and I am really pushing the car.
Doesn't happen under load though. Right now I simply don't car. I still drive it around and it works fine :) A small misfire on a NA car... Meh. Not too bad!
