Haha going to my car one day I noticed this death trap parked next to me.
They're so small! lol. The rear goes only to the end of my front door parked evenly in the front. I didnt realize how tiny they were till that day. lol

ha there is one just like that I see at least once a week near me. I would never drive that around here. Some soccer mom on a cell phone would drive over that and not even notice.

If you wreck one of those tiny things, you're the first one at the scene!

And I won't even comment on the 5am part...

On a more serious note, check out the crash test data on those things! Also check on the damage and injury rates on SUVs. I think you would be surprised. It is a smaller target.

Yeah I saw a blue Smart car in a wreck on Hwy 92 last week. Driver ran into the back of a Suburban, and did not look bad at all, no injuries that I saw. They are built well, but size does matter.

I think you might be surprised how strong the passenger cell is on the smart. There is essenstially a steel cage around the passenger compartment. Since none of the "beams" in the cage are very long it is incredibly stiff. Add in the fact that the thing has no mass and you have a car that does suprisingly well in crash tests.

Correct. Don't knock an exceptional product that I wish would be accepted faster.

Have you ever seen an e36 get hit by a trunk? SUV? They crush like a tin can... IIRC they got medicre crash test ratings. Your e28 is another story but don't knock the smart! I wish we would get more vehicles like this.

E36s actually did horribly in crash tests.
