Who uses satellite radio?

I got hooked on XM when I had my MINI. Haven't figured out how I want to install it in the Seven yet, so I've been without for a while. The FM transmitter sucks in Atlanta and I get horrible sound quality from the tape player. I'm thinking of just getting a new unit to hook up through the CD interface.

I've got the Delphi SkyFi2 and just can't figure out where to put it in my Seven. With the MINI, I just put the antennae on the back of the roof and ran the wire in through the hatch-back. I thought about just putting the antennae in the back dash, but I've heard that reception can suffer through the window.

Also, I can't figure out a good place to mount the unit up front. I put an adapter in the glove box in place of the flashlight, so I've got power figured out, but I'm still not happy with the sound quality using either the tape deck or FM transmitter.

I don't mind giving up the CD changer, but I'm just not ready to spend the money on a new unit when I've got some other things I want to do to the car.

I have XM on my 05 MCS Cabrio and will be installing ti soon on my 07 MCS. Absolutely love it.

I had Sirrius on my 07 335i Coupe and like it a lot but that is what came with it. Now my 07 X5xi 4.8 has Sirrus...free for another year...so I'll stay with it. I prefer XM over Sirrus.

I like Sirius, but its more trance, techno, hip hip and beats than XM...XM's got that nice 200 channels of sports lol

oh good, I was hoping that would happen. they basicly use all the same equipment, and in most cases the same shows as well, they just clip in"XXX on xm" or "XXX on sirius"

I have Xm and I really like it, but my bud brent has sirius and its pretty good as well. though the one trance station i heard was bascily the same shows as on XM.

But hey maybe this will mean more stations for all!

Talk of a merger has been in the winds forever. Until the FCC gives approval nothing will happen. Terrestrial radio is up in arms saying the merger will create a monopoli. I'm not holding my breath:no:

Radio is radio, there is regular, HD and satellite...thats like saying the cable company has a monopoly.

i think they should let them merge, mainly because if i end up getting satellite radio, i would be able to listen to the nba, nfl, and mlb all on it, they were split up between siruis and xm before
and what is HD radio? ive heard of it before, but im not really sure what it is

I had a new Alpine w/Sirius Satelite along with Memphis speakers installed 2.5 yrs ago. Being a transplanted NY'r, I need my dose of Stern everyday!:fire:
