As long as you get one with minimal or no rust you should be good to go. Good luck with the search.

Yes I have heard that the tin worm is bad on 02s. Bad but preventable. Some are clean as a whistle. Beware of bad body work too. Rust can be Bondo'd in and painted over before it can fall off.

First post for me!

You can get some nice '76 2002's from California at great prices. The 1975 cars are the last that are emmissions-exempt and many owners of '76 cars there have to get rid of them, since they must pass both tailpipe and visual inspections.

Good luck with your search!!

If you want 02 parts, help, or a car call Jeff Chang at Strickly German. Jeff has everything you could need.
He just build me a motor with 292 Shrick cam, ported and head, piano top pistons and over bored block. Did a intake port job, headers wrapped, and a 38\38 webber. Breaking it in right now.
Not to mention the flywheel with 13 pounds shaved off it with the help of 6 hours on the brake machine.
