Wow, good job. Like the write up. Might not pick that set of colors, but it looks good. Have any pics of the step by step build?

should have taken pictures of the ordeal. Thought about it on the drive in today. Pretty straight forward. I had never done any paint or body work before. Getting the door handles filled in and looking straight took a bit of time. Filled all the emblem holes and I am going to have a friend pin-strip the emblems back on.
The remote doors work great! under the hood there is a little extra something too. Little cars get no respect on the road so I added a real TRAIN horn. Air compressor and tank in the trunk. This thing is not job and took a massive shoe horn to fit it in. you really have to hear it to believe it:walkman:

I love the flat black. Very nicely done. Difficult to get to look right but I am very impressed. I hope to get to see the car in person soon.

I gotta go against the grain...
Don't like it.
The burgundy or whatever color on the front doesn't really work with the black and it was carried into the window and roof area? It looks like it was just not painted or you forgot :(

I dunno..:confused1: Maybe if it was another accent color instead of the burgundy/red it might work? I dunno what color, something else?
But, great job anyways..

I'm in the "don't like it" camp, though I normally like your cars.
Flat black with modern wheels and shaved handles/emblems. The whole mix seems a bit off. Different wheels would save it, rock out some steelies. Or, put some color on it and show off your excellent bodywork

The horns are amazing. I'll post a pic this weekend of the set-up. Lot of 'massaging" to get them to fit. The stainless steel on the car was in kinda rough shape. I tried to clean up the bumpers but them tried to paint them. Maybe got a bit carried away with the red. Not sure. May strip the red off the drip rail. The wheels are not my favorite but came on the car and are a awesome set. 195s all the way around. I would paint them, but I think Jeff Chang would kill me. I'm looking for another set in the mean time. I was a bit scared when I started this project. I knew a lot of people would just think I killed this poor car. I know it's not stock\OEM but that is just my style. If you want original go ORIGINAL. Other wise it seems fair game.
My daily driver for years had been a hot rodded 56 chevy 2 door wagon (shaved handles) Just love the clean look down the side. Not to mention the look on peoples faces when they try to get in.
Jeff Chang has a sweet motor he's gonna drop off soon. Maybe a couple of other little tricks. Want to see how they work first.
That you for the responses
I understand the haters and that's the best part about cars. Everyone likes something a bit different.
On another note. I tried this last year in the winter. Anybody interested in a "CAR SOCIAL" I have a friend with a great bar that is right on the bridge that goes over Freedom Park way down town. Incredible place for picture. We were talking about getting a DJ and having a car party. anyone anyone
