Sound Insulation

i have the stock sound insulation under my hood still on my car(as i suspect many of you also do)
i was wondering what the pros and cons of leaving it on and off are
if i take it off, does the noise become a nuisance, or does it just sound better?

if youre valves are properly adjusted there shouldnt be too much nosie coming from under the hood... but since your valves are probbalby way off like every e30 owner it will sound like a typewriter convention....

so you would recommend leaving it on?
and i like the phrase typewriter convention, im not sure ill ever use that again in a normal conversation
