I was looking on bf.c today and came across this (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=699289). I'm amazed at the whole project. These guys know their stuff. I cannot wait to see this one done. Props http://images.bimmerforums.com/smilies/buttrock.gif

hmmmm............. This reallyyyyy makes me wonder if I should be a copy cat. I already have the LS1 engine. Only thing is, what would I put in the Vette??? 408 Iron block?? Yeaaa, that sounds good.

because it weighs the same as a S52 and makes alot more power...oh and its ALOT cheaper to fix.

Its the way of life, americans make great motors(power), germans make great cars, italians make em look good, and japan makes them tiny and torqueless :)

As fast as it would be, i'd still heave issues with driving a BMW with a corvette engine...it just seems un-American/German, whichever it would be...

Hmmmm, interesting. The new engine looks twice as large as the original engine. Why would someone do this?

Then again, the beer in the foreground of one of the earlier pictures probably explains a lot.

my point exactly, if anything id take a corvette and put an S54 in it, i mean yeah the corvette motors make alot of power, but its just not right to put it in a BMW, plus BMW makes alot better quality motors than america will ever make

I've seen one of these in person..."the Heartbeat of Bavaria"...:luxhello:

Honesttly, I don't think it's at all an abomination. People have been putting SBCs into all kinds of stuff for years for a simple reason. It works. That looks like a really nice job that was done, kudos!

I'm a BMW purist also, but I thought this was cool. The attention to detail is what really impressed me.

Put the Vette engine in the 325, put the M50 in the Vette! Problem solved.

P.S. I'd be much more impressed with an S62 powered E30.
