Coupe, vert, sedan? Manual or auto? Year? Dealer or owner?

If you click on the picture it takes you to another link with tons of pics. $23,900, 27k miles, 2004 330ci coupe, black sapphire metallic outside, alcantara suede inside (looks grey to me), steptronic automatic transmission, it's at a dealer.

Really like that one, but Sedan is more practical for me I think(especially for insurance). Automatic(Due to traffic)..Would like to stay around 22 max to keep my payments close. '03-'04 will most likely be in my price range. Dealer/owner not a huge deal for me as it will most likely not be under warranty anyway.

BMWoSA has one, I don't think I can link to the page but here's what it is:

Their website is www.bmwofsouthatlanta.com, search under their certified pre-owned inventory for 330, you'll find it easily.

Oops, I posted that after yours so disregard. It's also a coupe, it's a manual transmission. I like it, sort of, but something about the interior is sort of lackluster for me... maybe the color?
Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you'll find something quickly with everyone here helping you out. I'll keep looking for you in my usual haunts.

Try not to buy from a Indy dealer just to save the sales tax.

Might be worth the extra two grand for what this has on it. You might also negotiate him down a bit. Also has 10,000 miles of warranty service left....

Hmm, i'm not sure I have a lot of "haggle" room when its listed at 24,2. I'm not sure how I would do with the payments on an extra 2. I'd love to have an SMG but I don't know that it'll be possible. Great find though, i'll def. look into it.

An extra $2K is roughly ~$40-$50 more per month, depending on your situation of course..

Its roughly $42.88 plus the increased cost of my insurance for having a year newer, faster car...
I'm budgeted for what I was paying before, just something I have to look at. Need to get a quote from insurance first though...

All of us here are so good at spending everyone else's money for them, aren't we?! Telling people to buy houses, spend more on cars.... remind me never to ask any of you for advice on a purchase! LOL j/k ;)

Sheesh, I haven't even gotten the front bumper yet! I have to get some service done first (you know, the important stuff).
Yeah, yeah, you made my point very clearly. :)

I'd love to have it but I want a sedan, its more practical I think...Insurance is already bad enough in my sedan because of where I live...

So I went to look at a Black on Black '04 330i today in Roswell. Independent place called Georgia Carmart. He sold the one that I was looking at but said he is going to an auction on Wednesday in Atlanta. I watched him on the computer; used a site or program called "Manheim Simulcast" if that means anything to anyone. He printed off a few options, beside seller is "Financial Services Marketing (Lease)". So i'm assuming this is a repo auction? Some of the cars have minor scrapes which he said they would fix for me in advance. I have the printoffs with all of the cars information. He said if I let him know which I like he can get me an '04 or '05 under 50k for around 22k. I'm kind of apprehensive about the situation, wondering if anyone else has a similar experience? What shold I watch out for? Should I avoid altogether? Thanks for any input.

I have to get an automatic, just doesn't make sense to have a manual with my commute to work...

Sorry to keep posting, just thinking out loud...Point out flaws in this logic. IF i'm prepared to spend around 22-23k. The '03 and '05 have no differences in HP or Torque, the only real difference in the two, from what i've seen, will be maintenance. If I can find an '03 with low miles, that won't be a huge issue either. If I buy an '03 for around 19k, I have an extra 3k to mod with as soon as I buy..comments concerns? Anyone have input on the auction I posted about earlier?

I used to feel this way, but I LOVE my manual transmission MINI and I hardly notice it in traffic anymore. Definitely worth the extra fun you can have in a manual. Of course, I totally respect your decision and will continue trying to help you find what you are looking for.

I like the idea of having mod money if you find a car you'll be happy with for 19K, but I thought you were financing the whole thing. Where is the extra three grand coming from?

No I have a bank loan that I'm using. I have cash saved and I'll be able to use whatever I get for my car for my next car. In a perfect world, whatever they give me for my car will cover the next one...
