In legal documents in its federal case against Jeffrey Howell, a Scottsdale, Ariz., man who kept a collection of about 2,000 music recordings on his personal computer, the industry maintains that it is illegal for someone who has legally purchased a CD to transfer that music into his computer.

So if you buy the cd, you can not copy it to your mp3. I think this is going overboard here.

Well then I'm safe because I don't buy CD's and then transfer music to my computer, I just download it straight from LimeWire for free.

I have about 300 gigs of music on a few different hardrives! But nowadays a lot of DJ's myself included use systems like "Final Scratch" "Serato" or "Traktor" to DJ.
It basically lets you use all of your Mp3's like Vinyl.......I think it will be kind of hard for them to ever regulate this stuff. Honestly when i see lawsuits like that it feels like they are just picking on people. There are much bigger fish to fry IMO.
