176,966 and counting. I replaced the main drive gear in my odometer yesterday. Merry Christmas to me! I am happy to report that it is working now and I will finally know how many MPG I'm not getting since I need a new cat.

Just wanted to give props to Jeff @ Odometergears.com (www.odometergears.com) for sending me the awesome machine-quality parts to fix my odometer. For any of you old school BMW drivers who want a working odometer, check him out.

Mine went out at 173,000 on the e28. Bill at German Auto Repair did a great job fixing mine.

My other one had 330K on it when I wrecked it. Also an '88.

Yes they are. With some $$$ and some TLC I should be able to make this car last another 20 years! Of course it is going to be retired from DD status sometime this summer. I'm looking at getting an E36 or E46 for my DD. I LOVE driving manuals, but 1 hr+ each way in traffic is killing my left foot. I never thought I would say this (and my GF would faint if she heard it) but, I wish I had an auto for the traffic.

I haven't seen any, but I haven't been since August. I will be out there in January with the E46 and maybe the E28 if she's up to it.
