You will find out soon enough Philip! Lets just say it WAY more tail happy now!:luxhello: I even washed and waxed it last night and Dom gave me a new airbox:luxhello:! I will post pics when i get home from work at 7:30 tonight!
No i havent because Dom is going to help me pick out a good combo, He doesn't think that Bavauto is that great, i think i am going with H&R race springs with Bilsteins!

Is the car in question a track car?:eclipsee_steering:

Doing good maintenance is always very important. I'm guessing that the one seat is probably the only thing left inside that car right now besides the dash? I'm also guessing that it weighs about 1900 pounds right now?

Yeah pretty much but i want it to be steetable also. Its going to have full dash front seats, front door panels, and i even cut the carpet right before the front seats so that it looks stock from the driver seat, but from the front seats back there is nothing! I mean i took out a good 300 to 400 pounds out easy!

Awesome, lets see you get out there on the track. . .and remember, it's experience not modification that makes a car faster ^_^!
I'm curious as to how light those cars can get before you start spending serious money. I love lightweight track cars and would like to see what lightweight + torque does with those prima donnas.
Although it's been said, congratulations, but you know me . . .I'm not impressed until you show me what you can do behind the wheel not behind the wrench.

That is true about Stig. It'd been said that he lives his life a quarter mile at a time.
You know Justin, it isn't how you lean on your car that matters. It's how you race your car.
They call me Philip. I got a last name too, but I can't pronounce it.
Justin's just lucky that 100-shot of NOS didn't blow the welds in the intake.
Oh by the way Justin- Don't forget, you owe me a 19 second car.

I'm surprised you see my 4 F&F quotes and raise me 6.

12-25-2007, 12:22 AM
LOL F&F Philip! Yeah i want to get it out on the track but it needs a lot first! Since i tore all that stuff out of Jons asshole it drifts real nice but i need to do alot before i really start to drift it! Shocks, springs, bushings, Motor mounts, tranny mounts, Tune up, are just a few things! I am about to take some pics i will post them soon!

Are you kidding me? The essence of grassroots motorsports is running a car in it's most stock form.
*sigh*
I'm beating a dead horse here . . .I say take it to a track, run it, learn it, then once you've reached it's limit, modify.
*sigh*

Idk stig i dont think it would make it a day at a track right now! The shocks are blown man! Bodyroll up the ass! One of the motor mounts are almost completely gone and the CSB is torn! I just want to get a few things out of the way first! Not really upgrading but just maintanance! Like your Ae86
blackstig
12-25-2007, 12:48 AM
LOL, the 86 has a 80bhp engine that's carbed and doesn't run . . .if it were in it's current condition with the 4age . . .it'd be on the track as we speak letting a series of R&D guys tell me how "she's doing" LOL!
I understand your situation though, get that stuff fixed, then get out there ^_^
Hope to see you on the track soon . . .

Tuck the wires and you've got yourself a clean project there ace! I like where this is going . .
Add to your list of things to buy:
1. A Milwaukee Heat Gun! They cost about 40 bucks from Lowes or Home Depot and will clean up all that insulation and sound deadening. You get rid of that stuff, especially on a BMW, and you'll probably shave about 100 pounds.
2. A scale. These can range, the lower end ones can be between 50 and 100 bucks and they go all the way up to several thousand dollars. Shop carefully and buy used if you can. Most scales don't decalibrate for a long time so if you can find a low usage scale that measures in .xx increments of a pound and goes pretty high, it'll help you out a lot when tallying the total weight lost. (Remember, it's never cool to "guess" how much weight you've shed, people prefer exacts, and you will too! It sucks BALLS when you think you've lost 300lbs and you've only lost 150...)
3. A helmet, SA2005 or better. I know the SCCA and NASA still allow SA2000 but you're going to want SA2005 due to the 2010 year quickly approaching.
4. A membership to the SCCA or NASA. Either one is fine, or you can be like your hero Stig here and join bolf . . .that's right . . .I said BOLF! LMAO!
5. A putty knife and scraper kit. Yeah, the heat will HELP remove that sound deadening, but a flat head screwdriver and butter knife are going to absolutely dread pulling that stuff up!
That's about it for now . . .I can't think of anything else . . .so uhhh . . .yeah . . .if I think of anything I'll post it . . .but yes . . .so far . . .SHE'S LOOKING GOOD!!!
-Stig
P.S- OH! I don't want to go away without saying this . . . those wires won't pass tech inspection. I know you've got some time before you get out on the track (A BUNCH OF TIME, LOL) but it's easy to forget that those are exposed. I don't want to see it come down to Crunch-Time and when D-Day approaches you fail tech because you have loose, astray, unsecure or exposed wiring. -Per The GCR-SCCA-
WOOT!

LOL i have only had the car for 2 days!!!! I know i have alot to do but what needs to happen to the wires just tuck them? Yeah Stig LMK of anything else! I am going to take all the sound material out but like you said i have to get a heat gun first!

Nice! I can't wait to see it on the track. Make sure you post when your first race is, we could make it a CB meet! I'll volunteer to be in your pit crew, I can be like the guy who hands you a bottle of Gatorade on a long stick (that's about the extent of my mechanic knowledge so far but I learn fast!).
Great pics, make sure you keep posting 'em as you go!

Oh sweetie don't worry, after further evaluation I've discovered I may have exaggerated a wee bit. I don't really have a crush on the E30, I just like them an awful, awful lot.
My true love is the E28. :stuart:
