Nice! Is the one on the right (an E30?) the same as the car in your sig? And is the other one the M3 you're buying? (Sorry if I f*cked that up completely, I'm so confused on the whole M3/A55h0l3/car-rental thing!)

Anyway, whichever cars they are, they're sweet. Thanks for sharing!

The E30 is Jon's first car. It's his 1984 318i coupe, and let me tell you, that thing is *mint*. It has all OE parts and period-correct mod's. That car is just done right. Hennarot paint and flat-black Alpina stripes, you gotta see it in person to appreciate how clean it is.
The M3 is his daily driver (which he is graciously letting me borrow until AllState A.K.A. "Satan Insurance" coughs up the money that they owe me. -what a guy!), and let me also tell you- that car is something else. Every time I hit the gas in the M3, somewhere high in the Alps, a German virgin instantly becomes pregnant with an Italian/Arian half-breed bastid child.
I could listen to the S52's beautiful exhaust note, wide open and deep into the power band reverberating off the surrounding buildings with the scenery passing by at exponentially increasing speeds all day long. I'm not exactly sure what a warp-drive is, but I'm sure that car has at least 2.
As I've said many times before- I'm a firm beleiver that that the E36 is Mankind's greatest achievement, with democracy at a close 2nd. However the hands-on driving experience has really revealed to me that the car is more than simply the sum of it's parts. The M has certain intangible attributes that are far greater than anything you'll see on a spec list or a track day readout. I'm talking about the things that a car can do that can't be measured by a g-Tech Pro or a cop's laser gun. Call it "mojo" or whatever you want- the M3 has loads of it.
I have a daily ritual that I attribute most of my life's successes to; I listen to "Eye of the Tiger" when I'm getting ready in the morning. Yeah, I know it sounds absurd, but that song makes me successful. I don't beleive in luck, but Eye of The Tiger definitely gives me some competetive edge that works for me.
I digress, the point of that story is to explain that driving the M3 gives me the Eye of the Tiger effect in concentrated doses all throughout the day. If I keep on diving it long enough I don't doubt that I'll be the C.E.O. of BMW NA before Valentines' Day.
Driving that car makes me feel like Chuck Norris.
Well, I'm drunk and 5:30 a.m. is rapidly approaching.
I bid you all good night, and Merry Christmas.

Philip, okay now I understand the car situation and what belongs to whom. Thanks for clearing it up.

I love when I see a long post from you, I know I'm going to chuckle or laugh outright at least once per paragraph. You're a trip! And I don't know if you were making up the part about your morning routine, but I understand completely. That's a friggin' cheeseball song to start your day with (which would explain a lot about you :)), but I totally know what you mean about routines.

Anyway, hope your head doesn't hurt too bad this morning. I'm going over to Justin's thread to congratulate him on his new car. Merry Christmas!

1. Thank you, I love to make people smile. It makes me smile. :001_tongue:
2. I'm completely serious about Eye of the Tiger. I highly recommend you try it and see if it works for you.
3. My head doesn't hurt, but I might possibly still fail a breathalizer test.

Arrgggh! That's the worse kind of hangover. When you wake up and you're not hungover yet. It's coming baby, get ready. Down some ibuprofen and orange juice now while you can still keep it down.

Take care!

Good idea. I will take that advice because I have to go to my g/f's grandma's house after work and then drive to mom's house in Macon immediately after that.

 I have nothing nice to say.

Whaaaat!?
I said I don't drive drunk any more, sheesh. I was young and stupid and I realized it was dangerous and I dont do it or condone doing it.
