That's cool. I wonder what would happen if I took a turn toooooo sharp... :)
I bet if they could get those type of MPG numbers in a car that looks "normal" a lot of people would probably look into getting one.

500 can get you one on reserve.
Here is where you have an option (drive topology)
(Do you want to drive long distances or do you just want to use your Aptera for your daily commute, chores, and as a general around town vehicle?)
All Electric This Aptera is powered exclusively with batteries and will get you around town to the tune of approximately 120 miles depending on your driving conditions. At night you simply plug the Aptera into any standard 110 volt outlet and in just a few hours you will have a fully charged vehicle that will take you another 120 miles. The approximate cost of this option with all the features listed above will be $26,900.
Plug-in Series Hybrid This Aptera is also powered by an electric drive train but it is assisted by a fuel efficient gasoline powered generator which stretches your range significantly. In typical driving you may achieve over 300 miles per gallon and you will have range far beyond any passenger vehicle available today. The approximate cost of this option with all the features listed above will be $29,900.
30k for 300 miles per gallon. I would have to see some one else run the test on the car to see if it really gets as good as stated.

My interest in the future is with ethanol. I bought stock in companies like Archer Daniels Midland, who produce and study ethanol and work towards making ethanol easier to get. While we will never run out of gas in our lifetimes, our kids and grand kids will need alternative fuels.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/honda-refining-hybrid-lineup-preparing-to-take-on-prius.html
Honda CEO Takeo Fukui has announced that the Japanese automaker has not yet begun its fight in the hybrid vehicle segment. Fukui admitted that the company should have developed a hybrid only model instead of the Civic Hybrid. Honda is currently developing such a "Prius-fighter" for launch in 2009.
"The real competition has just begun," Fukui told Automotive News. "Until now, it has been an image-based competition, not a business-based competition."
Fukui also revealed that the new hybrid-only model will feature a lighter motor system that will increase fuel economy. Honda has yet to release official pricing for the upcoming car, but says that it will sticker for less than the current Civic Hybrid — which retails for $23,235.
Honda hopes that hybrid vehicles will makeup 10% of its sales by 2010, with the new hybrid-only model accounting for 200,000 sales annually.
This is going to be interesting. Along with the Nitrogen Dioxide emissions laws out of the EU.
