I had an AMAZING night last night!!

I'm a stockbroker, and often entertain my clients and potential clients for business, sometimes I am given the honor of being invited into their homes. So, I am invited to a customer's house who is thinking of bringin me a significant pile of money. What made this so awesome, you ask?

I was invited to his home in a quiet beach community here in CT. When I originally talked to the client on the phone we uncovered and discussed our mutual love of the Roundel, and he said he had something I had to see. Boy, did he ever...

He is the original owner of an unrestored 507 with 50K on it. A true 100 point car. On top of that he has a basement full of factory original parts, including a complete drivetrain and a hard-top that is still in the box it came in. I was floored that he shared this rare treat with me, what an amazing automobile and a gracious host!! I must have spent 20 minutes just drinking in the beauty that is his car!

I knew it was going to be good when I walked in to find two weber carbs on the kitchen counter that he was in the process of rebuilding. :luxhello: We didn't talk about business at all, just three hours of his fascinating stories of the pleasure this car has brought him over the years.

And, the daily driver is an E34 530i estate!!! IMHO, the best looking wagon EVER made!!

I did invite him to join our community, he may or may not show up. He is likely to at least lurk and check us out. I hope he does join, the stories he can share are the stuff we all dream of.

I have a picture of the car that is now hanging on the wall of my office, but nothing in email. I'll ask for one. What a brilliant automobile. The best part is that he tries to put at least 1000 miles on the car every year, AND he does all of his own work on the car. It's never been in the hands of a mechanic, and he is adamant that it will NEVER be for sale, despite multiple 7 figure offers that have been made!!

I'm still a little giddy from seeing it. A truley iconic car from BMWs history!!
