The girlfriend got tired of her New Beetle breaking down (FINALLY!!!) so we decided to trade it while everything was still working (this month anyway).

This is what we traded it for:

1998 328iS Coupe, Auto, Gray Leather, 98K Miles. This car is pretty damn quick too! And for all those who are wondering,

no, I did NOT get rid of the E28. The funny part is the mechanic at the dealership said that he would rather have my car than the E36! Let me know what you think.

That is all I got so far. We just got it Monday night and it has been raining. I will get it cleaned up and take some more pics this weekend. Thanks for the compliments. My GF would be proud.

Avus blue is one of the best colors the BMW paint chemists in Bavaria have ever come up with. Great choice.

If the paint is anything short of perfect and you want it revived let me know. I'm pretty decent with finish restoration.
And I will work for :pizza:.

There is a scratch down the passenger rear fender, but it is only on the surface. It needs a good waxing, but other than that looks great. Maybe we can meet up after the holidays sometime.

I am thinking about trying to get a E36 M3 in that color because I love it so much. I know Phillip just got one (:nono: - Congrats man! Haha.)

Avus Blue E36 M3s are rare cars, Philip got really lucky on his find. My brother has a Avus M3 as well. We can find you one! :)

It's still going to be another year or so before I retire the E28 from DD status. If I can't get an Avus M3, then a black E46 330ci should do it for me.

If only I had that kind of money to spend. I'm looking in the sub $18K range.

That was damn funny Philip. I found a 97 M3 Sedan Auto in Black that I think is pretty awesome. Here it is (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?rdpage=thumb&car_id=232753095&dealer_id=100001062&car_year=1997&model=M3&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&start_year=1995&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=used&distance=500&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&make=BMW&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=30044&advanced=&end_year=1999&doors=&transmission=&max_price=20000&cardist=419) if anyone is interested. Need time to save more cash though

Thats a great looking car, but that GM 4-spd tranny is a piece of garbage. There was a guy in Atlanta selling a very very nice black M3 sedan 5 spd for about $10,500 about a month ago. I test-drove it and ran great, and the body and interior were perfect. He was the original owner. I'll try to find you the link.

I'm interested in the link and dually noted about the auto. I am thinking of getting an auto since I drive an hour each way to work everyday, but I have always been a manual guy. I like to take the more "hands on" approach.

I commute :45 to an hour too. It's not that bad.
I wouldn't give up my clutch pedal for the world!

I'm still looking for the one that I test-drove, but in the mean time this one (http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/529244549.html) looks pretty nice.

That one is very clean. Did they make the sedan in Avus? That would be sick. You happen to know where that dealer is located?

Avus was only available in '95 and the sedans were 97-98 if I'm not mistaken, so no Avus Sedans in America. I'm not sure if there are any Estoril Sedans though.
As for the dealership, I'm not sure where it is.

And here (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/detail.php?id=4060) is your answer.

I like the Avus better. Looks like I'm going for black.
