100% unrestored original car. I am doing the brakes right now... should be ready for a test drive soon. 30 years in storage (inside).

Holy COW what a find! Its a 2 door Isetta! If you ever need parts for that thing, my neighbor is Werner Schwark, the Isetta King! I am going to eventually get a Isetta 300 from him next year.

Tell us a little about it's history? Where did it come from?

Well, the Isetta 600 that we picked up has been garaged for 30+ years. So, as you can imagine the brake system is totally shot, much of the rubber is hard or in need of replacing. The cool thing about this little egg is the fact that it has no major rust to speak of. The underside is unreal it's so clean. Trailing arms, springs, etc just need a quick bead blast and some new paint. It's going to be fun. I just pulled the whole brake system off and it's going to the rebuilder tomorrow to be rebuilt with brass sleeves, and new shoe material. I will keep everyone posted with photos.

Sean that car looks incredibly clean, straight and dry! I've been seriously looking for Isetta 300s since I realized my neighbor is the man when it comes to all things Isettas. You've got a great car there! I cannot wait to see more pics!

I picked it up off ebay. I had my Ebay searches set to email when Isetta 600's are listed. So, I dropped the guy an email right away and he was more than happy to make a deal. We have the whole breaking system at a rebuilder right now. They are going to brass sleeve the wheel cylinders, and master cyl. Reline the shoes etc. It should be ready to hit the road in 3-4 weeks. It will be here in San Diego. If you goto car events you will see it. :luxhello:

Rebuilt motor should be ready soon, all the chrome came back from the shop yesterday, frame and every piece of suspension has been blasted, primed, and painted. Post some shots later. :icon18:

Hey Sean, so nice to hear that you are getting the work done! I cannot wait to see it. Funny that you bumped the Isetta thread today, because I went to the Isetta MECCA last night. Before it got dark, some good friends took me to their Isetta shop, where I saw no less than 30 Isettas, 2 BMW 700s, some unique BMW hillclimb car, 2 NSU Prinzs and lots more. I am considering purchasing an Isetta to tinker with and hold onto, as they seem to have skyrocketed recently in value. There is no denying how cool these cars are!!

It's getting closer... here are some update shots. It's getting a full on mechanical restoration, and we will think about the body later. It's orig paint, so it's very hard to make the move and rip it down to metal.
