Well, after being MINIless for two months, I am having serious withdrawals and am considering getting another one. Of course, it would require getting rid of the E38. But, since we would still have the E39, we could still stay in this club and only have to worry about bringing one vehicle to the meets, right? :001_tongue: Plus, I could also be a participating member in my old MINI club again. :luxhello:

Okay, start the beating.... I'm ready. :construction:

Hmmm, you love your 7 why get rid of it? Minis are great cars though. We will be light on ya Tim! At least Cindy is keeping her BMW! :)

Can't be any worse than what happened to me ^_^

At least the Mini is still in the Bimmer family . . .I went with a smaller car from a warring country HAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, I love it, but I love the MINI even more if you can believe it. And, it is, as Stig said, BMW's little nephew. Anyone interested in a E38?

Yeah, so I could still be a member of Club Bimmer. Don't worry, Tim, I'll still let you tag along to some of the meets with me. ;)

I still say you should get more feedback from others about the 7 before making any decisions. And stay the hell off MINIusa.com, it's the website of the debil....

You know me better than anyone. Temptation has never been something I can turn away from easily. I just saw a sweet 'vert at the MoSA web site....:mf_popcorn:

But Swinny, tell us what you really think. Don't hold back!

Seriously though, why? Is it "No, don't sell the E38" or "No, don't buy a MINI"? Just curious.

I beg to differ. Jon got one as a loaner car the other day. I can say no more.

Well BMW sells Mini's I would say its fine. Some people have only one BMW and are in the Club. I think its cool.

I'll make sure I offset the loss of my car for the World Record by recruiting a couple of extras! Some people have carbon offsets, I'll have Bimmer offsets.:icon18:

You know, if you get that car, we'll have to battle to see which car handles better ^_^!

I recall the new Coopers being faster than the old ones . . . but the old Coopers out handle the new . . . .sooo. . . now we'll have to see . . .Cooper vs Miata in various tests . . .we'll drive our own cars . . . then switch and see which one is quicker . . .^_^

How about it? We'll make sure it's all done on a closed course environment that's safe for both vehicles, preferably autocross . . .

If I get it, I'm game. Of course, I'll have to break it in first. The model I'm looking at has a Turbocharged SOHC 16V I-4 1.6L engine rated at 172 horsepower at 5500 RPM with a torque rating of 177 lbs.-ft. at 5000 RPM.

Of course, I'm getting free driving lessons from the professional, right?

MINI Cooper S - 17" wheels. The new one. I love the old ones, but not as a daily driver. Some day, I'm gonna get one and put it on my mantel. :)

I've never drivin one so I don't know how much fun they could be but they are just too small for me.. since You and stig will have the only pocket sized cars in the club maybe your wife will let you come to meets with her...

Phew!

But Philip, it would have been your perfect opportunity to pick up an M3. :1eye:

If you just like big cars, then I'll buy your reasoning. However, I am 6'4, 225 (ding, ding) and have no problem fitting in the MINI comfortably.

Stig, you owe me one for taking some of the heat off you man!! LOLOLOLOL

I've never even actually been inside of a mini so maybe a quick ride in your new toy will persuade me...

Meh, forget the mini trade the seven for a TT. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w245/lsixer/hehe.gif

Srsly, I sold my seven and have not missed it. On the other hand, if I sold my six, I'd go through withdrawl.

Well I'll still hang with ya Tim, just when you stop by in the mini, please park it in the street, down a bit in front of the neighbors house.

Shhhhh. My wife might like the TT idea. And, when I come visit, I'll just stuff it in my pocket and you'll never know how I got there!

Jon is my neighbor, co-worker, drinking buddy, and primary Bimmer ****-shooting partner. If he sells his M3 to me, then I've got the only one in the neighborhood. That's no fun.

There's really nothing "Mini" about them. I can say from 1st-hand experience that they're waaay bigger inside and outside than an E30 sedan.

But you've lost about 35 pounds since you sold your old MINI, so the new one will feel quite roomy!

I hereby revoke my earlier statement.
Jon, you should most definitely buy a Mini Cooper S and sell me your M3 immediately. I dont know what I was thinking.
