My beast was feeling bloated so for Christmas I gave her light weight seats. The old ones are so heavy I could barely pull them out. and extra 150 pounds lost. Next is a single center mount battery conversion

But that car is to sweet to change. Also rare and hard to find.

Yea, I did that to the 8. Those seats really just aren't that comfortable to me. The side bolsters are like non existent. Not to mention it does shave 150 pounds off the car. I know, it's a heavy car, but dollar for dollar I am very happy with the conversion. I'm keeping the old seats. Have a UUC short throw shifter on the way and I just talked to my man in charge of the twin turbo project and it's a go.
So long story short, when you have a 4700 pound car with soon to be 500 horse power, it's good to be securely seated before take off:icon15:

Damn! are they really 4700 lbs? I thought it was more like 3800.

Man the 8s are TANKS! They are no lightweights, but an 8 with 500hp would be a blast!

They look like racing seats. Are the seatbelts built right in?

Yea, she's 4905 according to the door. Keep in mind, this is a true Touring car. It's no little car. 500 rear wheel horse power should be fairly easy to achieve. That is where I want to tune the car. That should leave me a little room to turn up the boost on occasion. My friend even has made a switchable EPROM so you can have litteraly two chips, or in my case 4. No sure we will be running this, but I know we have the power. That way we can run her at 7-8 psi daily, turn the knob and flip the switch and BAMMM 10 or 12 psi and the timing and fuel curves to match.
Oh there is so much I want to do. To bad with this water ban my money tree has willted up. V12s are expensive:money::fire:

They are Corbeau seats and belts. I used the four point harness with a single rear tie down. The single rear tie down has a standard automotive buckle so I can still flip the seat forward and pop the buckle to access the "rear seat" (only usable for child which I have)
I have adjustable brakcets (sliders) that I installed with customs brackets I made to fit the bolt pattern.
Was a fun little project.
Just drove the car home with the seats for the first time. WORTH EVERY CENT!
What a difference in comfort and control. Seriously go drive a car with good seats.
There is a reason high line fast cars have "racing stlye" seats.

I thought the weight on the door wasn't the actual weight but the GVWR which gives you the maximum safe weight of the vehicle when fully loaded?

Ehh, I'm no mechanic, I hear so many things about cars it's hard to differentiate the truth from the myths . . .

Those seats look killer, I can't wait to see that beast on the track . . .

GYMKHANA!

ROFLMAO!

Sooooo . . . .which one is yours? It may not be as heavy as you think ^_^ That 500hp may get a 100lbs advantage, LOL!
