Has anyone place headers on their engines?? Any problems with O2 sensors, problems with existing exhaust from headers back?? Just want to know what problems people have run into if they have run into any before I get knee deep into this part of my project.

Hmm, headers should not mess with the 02 sensors, in fact some should come with a bung for the o2 sensor.

Just curious to know if after placing headers did it cause any check engine lights to come on? I know after placing on my 350Z I had to have the brain reflashed for some unknown reason.

The ones I am ordering say that the o2 sensors should screw right in with "no problems" but if you knew how many times I heard that I could probably have my 645ci!

Hopefully some of our mechanical sponsors can chime in here!

It depends on the headers and the application. BMW manifolds are really very good regarding flow, aftermarket headers typically allow a little more top-end power but sacrifice some low end torque. Erasing adaptations after the install will allow the control unit to "learn" the new flow characteristics IF they don't exceed the parameters mapped in the ECU. I know this sounds somewhat vague, I need specifics on the application to give more accurate info.

More top-end power FTW! :wrench: :icon15: :wet:

I wish E46 M3 headers would fit on just a E46 :( I'd slap those babies on immediately! Much more flow
