I'm down for all of that . . .except . . .I'm not sure what a "role cage" is... maybe it plays a part in inspiring me to be a better person?:wet:
LOL!
Thanks guys, this car is super fun, I can't wait until I start buying crazy parts for it . . . like . . . .I don't know . . . all rebuilt internals and a turbo kit that allows for 22psi daily driven, LOL!

Yeah at the last CCA autocross event i went to there was a Miata there and i think he had one of the fastest times of the day! They are 50/50 i think, my only problem with them is that they are under powered but thats what turbos are for!:)

Yeah, you definitely don't buy a 1st generation Miata for the POWAAAHHH!
But, you can honestly look at a turn, and if you can SEE the turn, you can take it . . . .top of 1st gear or top of 4th . . .you're in that turn!

I bet if you took 4 unopened coke cans, picked the car up and placed one underneath each wheel the cans would hold it up. :) A few friends did that to a VW bug. I'm not sure what the weight on a Miata is.

aren't you on club4ag? there's not that many red hachis in douglasville :)
congrats on the miata, i have a 99 so i'm with ya on the fun factor!
me and a friend just put super celica 14"s and the espilir springs on his gts today and it looks, rides and handles a TON better. i recommend.
i also recommend Tein "s tech" springs for the miata (assuming you just want to upgrade springs), i have them on mine and it made a world of difference.
anyway, happy motoring! i know you will enjoy both of those featherweight beauties

I'll definitely take you up on that, I want to utilize the fact that these wheels are slightly larger than stock and upgrade my brake rotors and calipers. If I can't do that with 4-lug, I'll just get better rotors. I also would like a rollbar, new top, Cusco . . .well . . .everything (as so with my Corolla) and a small . . .itty bitty . . . turbocharger pushing air ever so slightly across the top of those pistons.
My Corolla is going to be fun and hopefully my Miata will be able to keep up!
Thanks for the kind words, yeah I'm on C4AG . . .that forums kinda dead so I usually peruse East Coast Toyotas, but I just joined MX-5 Miata Forums soooo . . .lots of posting . . .no time ^_^

LMAO! Shut up! The Toyota isn't a pile, it just has a pile for an engine, LMAO! Once that new engine goes in, rear end and axles . . . .we'll get a chance to see it running right!
LOL!
It's all good, though, hahaha, just keep in mind that your Teggy would take twice the money and twice the driving potential to do half of what my Toyota will do around the track.
Hate all you want, but you can't deny the true potential of those cars. If you do, that's just pure ignorance and stubborn behavior. :icon18::wet::wet::icon18:

Uhh - in an autox or road course, my Integra will pwn your 'Yota. The G1 Teg is based off the CRX chassis, shares same suspension design, etc, but with more power from a DOHC larger displacement 1.6L engine (vs. the single cam 1.5L in the CRX). And since when is a Honda expensive to tune? I'd arguably bet that any Honda product will be cheaper to modify than an AE86.

Pffft, sure thing buddy, I never said it's expensive to tune, but a GTS Package 86 (or one that's simply been converted over) will put your car in it's place . . . . 2nd place . . . .^_^
Once the modifications start going on (aftermarket suspension, power adders blah blah blah) well then, the gap really starts to widen and that Integra will start looking less and less competent.
The Integra is a great car, don't get me wrong. I'm not the one bashing cars here . . . you are. All I'm saying is that while the Integra will best the Rolla . . . hand down . . .in a dead sprint race . . . .once things get technical, I'm sorry but I'm willing to put quite a bit of money that the Rolla's handling will prevail, and if aftermarket is what is going to be the benefactor, then parts are abundant for both models, it would just come down to what each car turns into after modification.
^_^
It's all good though, I'll let you think that your FWD platform will put my Rolla to death! ^_^ :wet::wet::icon18::wet::icon18::icon18:

Unfortunately, I can't find many lap times for an AE86, mostly because next to nobody runs them in a road course setup. Are they a fantastic car to drive? Probably, yes, I've never driven one. Being very well balanced, and lightweight, they are extremely nimble - hence why they are SO good at drift, and possibly autox as well (not sure, never seen one autox'd either), and the very reason that they are fun to drive. Just like an E30 is a fantastic car to drive. They aren't fast, but they sure are a great driving car. The Honda FWD cars, especially the older CRX's, Civics, Integra's, etc., are all fantastic road race cars, very, very fast, and cheap to build and maintain.

I'm already a member of IA, friends with the owners, etc., and rarely post there for that reason. And yes, I know full well I'm calling out a mod - for that exact reason, that he IS a mod. Just because he's a mod doesn't give him the right to make blatant false 'statements of fact'. Being a moderator, he should be held to a higher standard than this, at least have some facts to back up your side of a debate. Rwd and 50/50 weight distribution doesn't cut it unfortunately.

That's fine. You can debate fwd vs rwd until the buttons fall off of your keyboard. Stig is a mod for the same reason as all of the mods here- he has a level head and he's been around since day 1. Just because he doesn't agree with you does not give you clearance to launch a personal flamefest on him. I'm done discussing this with you on this thread. You missed my issue completely. It has nothing to do with opinion. It is statements of incorrect fact that bother me.
Ban me if you'd like, overmoderation makes it impossible for members to police themselves and dispute incorrect information so that posters searching at a later date can find it and use it as useful knowledge. If you'd like, I'll pm you dozens of threads I've found on this board already full of useless/blatantly WRONG info and advice.

Bro, you are truly pathetic, I can't believe that you are droll enough to want to bring it to this. First of all, I'm not spitting mindless dribble, if anyone on this forum is simply blabbering for the sake of talking crap, it would be you.
This is a fruitless battle, to say that a car with the limitless potential of an AE86 is slow simply because its normally associated with low speed to moderate speed drifting is laughable, but I'm sure you already knew that I would come back with something like that.
Ridiculous claims? HAH! Apparently your brain is so concentrated on LIMELIGHT potential and performance that your grassroots have been lost! Maybe a few more years on the track will bring you up to speed junior.
Yeah, you know more about cars than I do, I'll give you that, and you're have way more experience than I do under the hood. But watch yourself, Tiger. You're talking to a driver with more track experience than you have experience behind the wheel.
