the definition of cornholing as I understand it is VERY different from what the makers of that game understand it to be.

I actually custom make the boards for this outdoor game. I have the official sized game boards and I also make a smaller sized boards for tailgating. Most folks have me finish them with their college logo, football team or their favorite NASCAR driver or beverage. I have to leave for an appointment but when I return let me find my information and I can post up if you are interested.
This game can and should be played by everybody little kids, big kids, dads, moms, you get the idea. It is however a GREAT drinking game. :)
Look for it on google under bean bag toss games.
If you want to use my show & tell boards for practice let me know. I would want them back because they are custom made works of art. I have three sets. They look so cool.

In the context of this game YES! Just move the boards closer for the little tikes. LOL! This game is also called "cow pie".

Rules
1. Regulation sized boards are placed 27’ apart from each other (from front of board).
2. Play consists of two teams of two with one player from each team standing on opposite ends.
3. Each team has 4 bags of one color and all 8 bags begin at one end.
4. To start, one player from each team tosses 1 bag - The team closest to the hole has “honors” and goes first.
5. A player from the team with honors tosses the first bag from anywhere behind the front of the board.
6. Play continues by alternating tosses between the 2 opponent players until all 8 bags have been tossed.
7. The winning team of each round tosses first in the next round.
Scoring
1. A bag that lands on the board, a “cow pie” is worth 1 point.
2. A bag in the hole, a “cornhole”, is worth 3 points.
3. Points cancel out (example -- If team one has 3 bags on the board and team two has 2 bags on the board, then team one nets 1 point)
4. The winning team of each round tosses first in the next round.
5. Any bags touching the ground or that hit the ground and bounce/roll onto the board don’t count and should be removed from the board before the next toss.
6. The first team to 21 or more points wins
7. 11-0 is a “skunk”.

When I was young, my Dad made some boards for a very similar game. Instead of bean bags, you had to toss these giant washers. I think they were about 6" diameter; I remember my Dad had to special-order them from the hardware store. He actually carpeted the boards.

We played "Washers" at every family gathering I can remember. One of my brothers still has the original boards, if I'm not mistaken. I have no idea where my Dad ever came up with the idea. Maybe it's just the Northern version of your beanbag toss game?

You're right, it's a great drinking game; we did a lot of that at every family gathering I can remember, too. And even some of those I can't remember.

Ya' never know, some people might show up thinking what you get when you do a google search. It is always better to play it safe when there are many drunk red necks about-> and they see you pull up in a BMW.

Al i'm gonna have to ask you to get me some prices...I'm thinking a Ga. Southern logo or a Braves Logo, possibly some combination of the two. I've wanted to pick them up for a while..

Well guys, I stopped by B-Dubs on the way home to see what all the "Cornholing" was about. Turns out it's just a bunch of drunks throwing bean-bags at each other or something. I was releived and disappointed all at the same time. I took a picture but I can't get it to load...

Jonathan, how about a Ga. Southern logo and colors on one board and the Braves logo and colors on the other board as you need two boards for a complete game set? The sets I make are now family heirlooms. Maybe a car logo, badging or other bright work? I have a couple of sites where you can order the bean bags and one site that I will highly recommend because they are the best I could find when I did my research. Give me a couple of days to locate the digital photos of my previously commissioned works that I have somewhere on my photo site. I will post up a link to the photos in this topic.

Good news today! I went to the doc and she checked me out and whew, I did not break my previously busted out and repaired hernias. I just severely pulled both sides of my stomach muscles running up from the groin to the belly button in a V shape separating all the muscle fibers that now are repairing themselves. Hurts like hell and the good part is they will fix themselves and no surgery is needed.

wow, that could have been bad. Sergery would have been 0 fun.

Please do post pictures and let me know pricing. I need something thats relatively portable as they will be used for tailgating. Definately interested. Ga southern on one and Braves on the other sounds like a good idea though.

As promised here is the link to the bean bag game Al’s photography site (http://paintpolisher.smugmug.com/). Go to gallery Parties click on it. Inside this category click on gallery Bean Bag Game.
The official sized game is the light brown stained and finished pair. The UGA symbol “decal” is a portable pair – lighter weight and custom sized to fit properly in your car.
I can build a reasonably priced pair depending on final design for $229.99.

Most materials [wood, hardware] are purchased at Home Depot or Lowes for the reasonably priced game sets.

I have had the pleasure of making some sets using exotic types of woods while on other sets I have hand painted the clients choice of designs.

All bean bag games are “one of” custom game sets. I also “one of” custom make stained glass panels & windows. No lamps.

You could go online and check out the other companies who make these games and you may find a pair in your original price range which is fine with me. My games are heirlooms and I am darn proud of everything I make as are my clients.

A good analogy would be the difference between going to a car wash to have your car detailed in a couple of hours or having me do the detailing taking a day or two depending on what needs to be done.

Please check out some of the other photos. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are nice galleries.

Wow Al, that quality is much better than what i was expecting. I've never seen a set look that good. It would definately be an after X-mas purchase, what is your typical time frime? Just looking for something by opening day.:) What are the dimensions of the board? I want the full set but will the legs fold down so I can put them in my trunk? I def. need something portable for tailgating.

Thanks for the information, I will def. keep you in mind.

Jonathan, I am going to hookup up with Wristshot96 to check out his bright work at the Bimmer meet this coming Saturday and I could bring along a couple of different boards for you to see in person. Yes I have designed my boards to have swing legs for storage and portability. I do love showing off my work. Thank you for the generous compliment.

I could probably have the set done by opening day and this all depends on my free time.

If you will be attending the meet this Saturday or if others are interested in the game here is my cell phone number so we can find each other 770.655.2054.

I probably will not be attending the entire meet as I have lots of leaves to harvest from the yard [unless I am having too much fun meeting everyone then the leaves can wait another day] so give me a call during the week and we can set a time frame so I don’t miss you. I will be wearing a dark brown cowboy type hat if this helps you out.

Currently my website is being revamped to handle online orders for a car related product just for us car enthusiasts caught in this terrible drought additionally I am having a couple of “show & tell” video’s being produced. The real hold up would be if this car and drought related product gets some traction and really takes off.

Hope to see you at the meet,
Al
