A write up on 135i/cayman/350z comparison. The give the 135i its due but think the guy who wrote it going in was a P car man.
Not sure where they got the idea to place the 135i in the same class car as a 2 seater Cayman and 350z. From reading they did not even replace the factory run flat tires before doing the heads up test.
Over all think the write up would be a nice topic to talk about.

100% agree... Just the title alone makes you wonder "whats the point". Not that you cant always "pit" one car against another.........like those stupid kill stories on the forums (which in-itself is pure bs to me unless its stock vs stock)
Much more appropriate, and to get-my-attention as a shopper, would be Z4/MCoupe vs CaymanS vs 350Z vs Corvette. There cars with the same relative HP (accept for vette.....but HP isnt the whole game my any means) and purpose similar. (although prices are quite different with about a 10K step upwards for each, if-not-more)

I agree with Bob, the ///M Z4 would have been a much better comparison. I'm really liking the new 135i...looks like a great GTI replacement! I don't know how they could pan the looks of the Bimmer, IMHO the 350Z is focking ugly. And, with a little suspension tuning I bet the Bimmer would simply walk the Cayman, as great a car as the Cayman is.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I'd have to go for the Cayman over the bimmer in this case. That car is simply pure sex. Absolute automotive erotica.

See. I'm thinking that the person looking for "CarX", is not going to go one day to BMW and look at a 135 (even 335 lets say), then head over to Porsche and look at a CaymanS. I just think your looking at two different purposes for the car.
I'd more think the buyer will be at BMW looking at the Z4 series, then head to Porsche to look at the Cayman's for a comparable sort of car. (Or better put, I did this at the beginning of the year, and granted the prices are greatly different.......I looked at the C6 Vette, CaymanS, Z4/MCoupe, and SLK55/AMG, and almost a Z06........ I was looking for a two seat car (for the most part), some power, and handling......etc. (you get the picture). I had more of an emphasis on handling. Actually I also checked out the BMW 6Series (not M6) at the time.

What's important, Bob, is that you DID get the C4S. What a wonderful machine!!
How's the Pantera?
