Ok gang,
As you probably know I have been searching long and hard for a clean E36 M3 coupe to replace my late 325IS, Dr. Coupenstein.
Many of you have been helping me out by finding leads and scouring AutoTrader and Craiglist for me, and I could not be more grateful for that! This has left my PM inbox full and there are threads and posts ands leads scattered all over the forum so I decided to make a thread dedicated to keeping all of that info organized to make sure I get soo all of it. Also, I now have a place to post updates for those of you who have been following my search since the beginning.
Anyway, here are the basic features that I'm looking for in an M3...
-1995-1999
-Manual tranny
-Coupe
-Non luxury package
-Prefereably under 100K miles
-Prefereably 100% stock
-Colors: Cosmos, Avus, Estoril, Hellrot, Titanium Silver
-Preferably ///M Contour wheels
Edit: Price range: $8,000-$12,500
And here is the car that I'm currently looking at...

Don't know of any for sale I'll keep a eye out. Hows it going with the Blue one?

I suppose I'd go for alpine white, but it's not one of my favprites.
Do you guys ever get any E36's in your inventory? I've worked at Global for about 4 months and that Estoril coupe is only the second one I've seen.

I'd like to find Phil an Avus Blue car, but they are quite rare. Alpine white M3 with black BBS wheels is absolutely dreamy. However, that Estoril car I saw this week was out of this world gorgeous. Damn I love M3s.

Check Bf.c's Classified section, seen a few listed. I didn't check for your specific reqs, but you can do that.. :) If I do come across anything I'll post here..

Umm, IIRC, there was talk and there WAS action, but . . .for reasons that we cannot discuss on this forum openly . . . no one wanted to help me put my money where my mouth is . . .
Actually I see a Z3 and an M3 here on CL from a dealer that might actually warrant a trade in ^_^

Nice one!! I second getting an E30, cheaper and has the "classic" factor.. :) You'll have plenty of cash left over for mods, some DE's, etc.. :)

I have 3 and I am not kidding when I say this...I love these cars! Mine are not perfect in any way and need work but there is something about them and the way they look. I just stare at these cars all the time and smile like a dummy. There are things I like about my E36 but it is totally different with my E30's. There maybe something wrong with me but I doubt it.

Yeah I wanna try that too! Thought about buying a kit but I need to do my home work first. I will have the facility to do real work after 3pm tomorrow when I close on my house. Just bought a new Hobart mig yesterday and a 60 gal compressor last week. Can't wait to get in my new house!

Hey - I'm pretty handy around the house if you need any help with anything. I've also got a Wagner power-sprayer and brush chipper if anyone ever needs to borrow such things....

HaHa! No need to question yourself, brougham. I totally concour. I just thought it was me. Last Sunday, I let Philip drive the hell out of my 98 M3 and my pokey ass e30s.
He talked about the M3 for 30 minutes or so. Then I see him searching Craigslist for e30s.
Just somthing about those e30's ... Addictive little bastards, aren't they? Even My lowly 84 318i put a smile on his face.
e30s are selling like mad. For some crazy prices. Just like I predicted. The e30 is the new 2002. Harder to find, worth their weight in gold.

LOL! It does read pretty ridiculously if you don't know whats going on. I logged on at Jon's house a few days ago, looks like I forgot to log out.
And for the record- Jon's 318 gave me a case of PermaGrin that still hasn't gone away. It really is a fantastic little car.
