It was bound to happen sometime! Hybrids are the wave of the future. Look at the BMW Hydrogen 7!

Impressive stuff. I figured they would try to do something to answer the re-release of the Skyline

wave of the future my ass, Hybrids are all hype and wont be anywhere close to a good deal untill they can either make a battery that lasts more then 7 years or gas goes over $5 a gallon.
In either case a diesel electric is what they should be developing for hybrids. And ethonal and hydrogen are WAY more efficient anyway.
Think about it, what would you rather have? A gutless danger to get on the highway with a max of 55mpg, or a torquey car with decent power that gets 80-100mpg on $2 a gallon veggie oil?

Hybrid, shmybrid. It's just another butt-ugly Toyota. I agree with the person above who said hybrids are all hype. They're popular because Hollywood-types can brag about driving them to feel better about themselves. Who cares.

Where in the world are you going to find 2 dollar a gallon veggie oil?

Farmers market and asian grocery(usually 2.25-2.50) Or you can buy in bulk if you know anyone with a restaurant which is right at if not under $2
Knew a guy from my VW days with a TDI passat who owned a few restaurants and just filtered out the used oil and put it in the passat. From what he told me all you need is a fuel warmer.

Should have wrote more into that then I did. As more people go to veggie oil over diesel/gas the price for plant oils is going to rocket in price. There will always only be a limited amout of use restaurant oil, which will leave the market as more people who work in restaurants drive cars that use oil.
Plant oils/Ethanol Is going happen more sooner then later. It just is not ever going to be cheap.(unless you use it now before the big rush)
The car aftermarket shows are going to be interesting in the years to comes. As diesel/electric motors start to show up. Nothing sexy about an electic motor.

We are all going to end up driving honda elements...thats BS..Remember that movie Road warrior? We should build our fort in the dessert now and fill a few tanks with gas just in case.
