Well i am considering buying a 1987 bmw 325is with 130k miles on it, it has the 2.5 liter inline 6. So far i think it is a nice car but there are a few problems.
1. The guages dont work
2. The windows dont work either
and light that can be shed on these problems would be greatly appreciated.

thanks casey

The windows often have a breaker button on the dash above the stereo. If not could be as simple as a fuse. It would be odd that all would not work unless it was one of the above or there is a wiring issue.

The guages on my 88' didn't work either but I replaced a few fuses and all have worked since.

Not sure where you are located, but if in the Atlanta area, I would take the car to Alan at German Car Repair and have him give it a good look. He'll let you know what needs to be fixed and what is good about the car.

There are several other repairs shops that have also helped us out here at Club Bimmer. I'd definitely have one of them take a look if you have questions about the car before buying. I'm just partial to GCR.

Sounds like relatively easy stuff to fix.
If the car is clean and you like it don't let little trivial things like that keep you from getting it. That stuff is DIY fixable.

and the best part of the hole thing the car is only 600$. so with all of the advice and things you guys brought to the table i think im going to make a investment in it.

Oh yeah, you gotta pull the trigger on that. That car probably has at least $600 worth of parts in it if nothing else. Make sure you keep us updated and post pictures!

I'd love to get my hands on a E30 325is, they are extremely fun and reliable cars. Just ask Machschnell, he had one for years as a daily driver.
