Which one do you have and what has been your experience? I am curious how the satellite reception is these days. I had it about 7 years ago but was not happy with it cutting out. Is it still like that?:(

They still have the same things going on with cable you get blocking, And on demand works half the time.

Either Comcast (as much as they suck) or DirecTV. Dish sucks bigtime. DirecTV has come a long way since then.

So far Comcast hasn't impressed but at least I do not lose my signal all the time. It will probably be Comcast again. Makes my ass hurt!

I have cable and it hasn't been TOO much of an issue, nothing some complaining hasn't fixed. I get FULL HD reception . . .even when it rains (as rare as that is) and my internet is faster han any DSL connection I've ever seen

Yes . . .that's almost 30Mb down and almost 3Mb up! I can get 31 down and 5Mb up on most occasions.
DSL simply can't touch the speeds or reliability and I hardly have issues with my On-Demand or regular programming, I dunno, sometimes it goes out, but I will say that more than 95 percent of the time, we have full services...
hehe ^_^

Thanks Stig. We are probably due for some new boxes. We get some choppy and pixelated action.

I've had both and definitely prefer cable. The internet connection alone is worth what I pay for cable over DSL. My dad has internet over Dish Network and it is okay, but he lives in the country and really has no other choice for high speed. I've had zero problems with my Comcast cable since moving back to Georgia two years ago.

Have comcast now and hate it every time I have to send in a payment. Add to that the rates are going up the 1st of the year. Going to cut cable and give the phone Co. a try with dsl & there direct TV.

Oh man. If you've had cable internet and go back to DSL, you are not going to be happy....

My Cisco instructor has DSL and every time he uses my connection he FLIPS how my wireless router is faster than his direct DSL connection.
Can you say . . .throughput, LOL!

I have comcast. My on demand has always worked for me and I actually use it a lot. HD is incredible...Pricing does suck though...we "borrow" internet from those who don't understand network protection.

Satellite was fun in Chicago, When it snowed you had to go outside and throw snowballs at the Dish so it would work.

I love my Direct TV. Comcast SUCKS so bad, we dumped them for DirectTV. I've not had any problems with rain or whatever with the dish. I feel sorry for any Comcast customers who need assistance with anything. Comcast is dead to me.

I like cable better because I don't like the ugly dish on the side of my house. But I think our current cable internet connection is slower than any we've had before. I don't know if it's Comcast or just something about our house. And my Mom, who had DSL down in Texas before she moved here this year, has noticed that her cable internet (again, Comcast) is slower than her DSL connection in Texas. I have to agree with her, I've seen it myself.
But I'm not changing. It's also the cheapest option by far if you have the whole package including a phone service. Which we don't have because it's unnecessary but if you really want a home phone voip (I think that's what it's called?) is definitely the way to go. My Mom has it and I love how you can check your voicemail online!

We rarely have a problem with our signal and when we do its brief...Now that i have an addiction to HD, i'll have to find a comparable price for HD before i'll switch.

We had Direct TV, and switched to Dish network. We have had it about a month now and I STILL have not seen all the available channels. Of course I am not the one ot offer a good opinion, I almost never watch TV.
The mans speaks the truth above precip and the signal. However, it seems to only be that way for us when we have an Ark-building level downpoar. Snow doesnt not seem to have much of an impact on us. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w245/lsixer/dunno-1.gif
