Yeah, I'm loving it already, it's a bit dirty, but it's been sitting around forever, so I'm not too worried. For those who know and are concerned, don't be, it only cost me 800 bucks to get this SR5 to my driveway and a GTS conversion is going to be done before you know it. I'm definitely in love with this car, I followed it on the way home and almost wrecked because I couldn't keep my eyes off of it.

Everyone who drove by it on the highway and new what it was slowed down, stared and a few even took pictures, I'm very excited that I got such a clean car for so little money.

On with the pics!!!

And as with every used car you buy, you always get a little bonus . . .I'm definitely going to wash this and wear it, I'm not a fan of Kyosho products (I favor Tamiya) but can't turn down free!

Awesome!! That thing is begging for some 13" minilites and some coilovers.

I also favor Tamiya products, I had just about everything they made for electric, 1/10th scale, RC cars in the 80's.

I love Tamiya, I had 2 RC's, nitro, that I used for competition, both 1/12th scale . . . .they freakin rocked . . .but the hat DOES match the car . . .sooooooooo . . .I guess I'll keep it . . .my sponsors are going to go NUTS!

LOL!

Those are the RWD models? I'm not too familiar with the older Toyota Corolla's. Anyway, nice find. What motor do you plan on swapping in there? Or are you going to run that one?

Yeah it's the RWD model the AE86. I'm going to go with a GTS conversion, but my 240 buddies are telling me SR20 or KA24, both have been done as has the 4AGE, but if I run the 4AG engine, it'll maintain it's stock classification because it'll still be a Corolla, just with the engine out of the GTS model.

Yep, you're looking at Stig's track car, that's her, ultra lightweight, extremely nimble, ultra affordable parts (that's the most important aspect) and fun to drive!

*sigh*

I still can't believe I own one.

-Stig

P.S.

Neither can they!

That looks fun. I think it would be better to keep apples with apples. But I'm a purist when it comes to engine swaps...

Well the GTS swap IS a corolla engine, it's just from the higher-spec model. The 4A-C, which it currently has, is an 80hp carbureted engine . . .nothing against it, it probably gets great gas mileage, but it's going on the track, it's going to need that fuel injection.

Don't worry bro, I'm going to stick with Toyota, you'll see . . .hopefully this will be on the track by the start of next season.

That's what I meant by apples with apples. Keeping it all Toyota.

Werd! Dude, if you have mechanical skills, you should stop by and help me change this clutch out! I'll compensate you for your time, but I just don't feel like spending 250 bucks to get a 100 dollar clutch swapped out :(

I feel you on that one though brother, just let me know when you'll have the time, I have plenty of air tools, but my jackstands are tiny . . .so I'll need to fix that . . .I don't have a lift :( but I have a lot of tools and a lot of space . . .lots of beer too, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That works for me dude, we can make it a whole day, I need my clutch, but I definitely want to make sure it IS indeed the clutch.

There's absolutely NO pressure on the clutch pedal at all, I thought it might be the master or slave cylinder, but I don't see any hydraulic fluid and I think it's cable driven . . .I don't know, I'll take a look at it . . .But it's probably just the pressure plate being done.

I don't know mechanics very well so I'll probably be PMing one of our more mechanically inclined members to help me out!

If it is cable driven then the clutch is probably dead. My EF was like that.

Just got back from outside, it's hydraulic, the clutch resevior was bone dry, added some fluid, but it'll most likely have to be bled . . .that won't happen until the weekend, oh well . . .

Eh, I'll just order a new clutch master and slave cylinder, put that stuff on, then take it to a mechanic and say . . .here . . .put this clutch in.

HAHAHAHAHA, I love your son! He's more than welcome to put the babyseat in the passenger seat and ride along, I just don't wanna scare the kid then cause some sort of trauma and he'll never be able to hear an engine again in his life :(

Yeah it runs, once I figure out what's going on with the clutch, it'll be a runner/driver. Then it's time to have a daily driver that actually gets some sort of gas mileage.

Yeah, I mean, I'd be lying if I said she wasn't going to go sideways, but that's not her primary purpose, she's probably going to see more time sideways while rallying than anything else, it'll be a blast to see what she can do while lapping the time trails regionally and nationally, but we'll have to wait and see what happens when she's ready, ^_^

Sweet! Nice chioce Stig, it should make a killer track car.
Corolla engine, LSD, coilovers, sway-bars,brakes, and a good wheel/tire package should have that thing read to rock.

Nah.. not getting one. Although I do need a daily driver to keep "Corinna" nice and purty.. :) I was thinking a Honda Accord/Civic? But, I would really like a nice E30; clean 318i 4 door would be sweet..:icon18:

And for the record, Sebastian has NO MONEY, reference the 9 year old vehicle.. :)

Okay . . .reference my 13 year old vehicle and 22 year old vehicle. AND I'm willing to sell my 13 year old vehicle in order to have more cash to buy a more affordable car, LOL!

Wait a second.... You are gonna paint the Bimmer and then sell it? Or have you decided against the paint job now that you have the track car?

I'll probably paint it if I don't sell it, but if I paint it, expect the price to go up to the general public . . .if anyone aboard these forums would like to buy it, then I would be more than willing to cut a special price ^_^
