I've done quite a few of these in the past and I think it's necessary to make sure that all who would like to compete know the sanctioning rules of competition and how the rally pans out. Just so there's no confusion when we get there.

LOL!

Wayne, I'm not sure I'd be interested in driving but maybe Tim would, and if they can have passengers I might tag along (and we'd let Lil' Bimmer stay with Grandma that day ;) ).

But no fast driving unless penalties you like!

You will need a second person in the car to help with the route. You also have to do what the route reads. If you go to fast or slow you lose points when you go past the checkpoints.

Depending on the date, we are definitely interested. I'm getting ready to be really busy with work and have a lot of travel coming up, so I can't commit for sure until later on. We'll have to see what date you work out.

That's right, better just leave it be, otherwise the closest thing you'll get to having anything is getting a kitten to sit in your lap!

If any E39 M5 drivers need a co-driver for this event I would be more than happy to fill the position. :) :icon15:

Anyway, my wife Julie usually likes doing the calm road rallies, so she might want to navigate for me. If she does not want to go, Phil you're up! :)

I'm going to see about having the Rolla running in time to do this event, I'm sure it won't be ready before January, but if this gets pushed off until February then I should be good . . .emphasis on "should"

I ran a PCA rally last year in my 944 Turbo S and we had a BLAST! In fact, we went so fast in between the checkpoints, they thought we had used the interstate! We came in last place, but first in smiles! Oh man that was fun!

Yeah but that's an internet-term called "Post whoring" and goes against posting etiquette or netiquette as it may. That was my subtle way of "warning the masses" without coming across as "Stig-The-Douche-Moderator". I'm no Nazi, but then again, I don't make rules I just enforce them.

Stig, Are you going to around my area this week? Also with the drought going on I have no work and nothing to do. Remember what I do.When I get busy I won't have time. I also have been down here from Chicago for three years and don't know anyone at all. I finally meet a great group of people which have something in common with me, BMWs. You are all good people, I have not come across a rotton apple yet.

If you bring a co-pilot it will negate your significant weight advantage. You'll need to get one of those inflatable dolls that people use to avoid tickets in the HOV lane.

Unfortunately no, I have to work every Saturday come hell or high water. It's the only non-negotiable part of my schedule.
As a matter of fact I should be driving to my grandma's house right now as I type this but I couldn't out of working this saturday so I had to shorten my trip by 2 days. I'm leaving directly from work this Saturday.

I'll try, I've done a few TSDs, but I always get nabbed in a CP because I decided to get dicey with the throttle or because I missed a marker or CP . . . .*sigh*

LOL! Well, fortunately, the way TSD Road Rallies work, I could drive an 18 wheeler and still win ^_^

I think a navigator will help keep me civilized when driving on those public roads.

Then again . . . if that co-pilot is Philip with one L . . .then heck . . .it may be a moot point to try to even meet the checkpoints on time . . . LOL!

And I shouldn't have a problem doing it because I'll be piloting Mankind's Greatest Achievment. :wet:
